DT Phantom tires made by Michelin?

Someone posting on a YouTube video that claims to work for Discount Tire says they are made by Kumho. It looks like Michelin helped them with some advertising in the late 1990s.

Which brake pad and rotors are best for a Chevy Equinox

I've had good success using the OEM brake rotors and Akebono pads on my GM vehicles. The vast majority of GM vehicles come from the factory with Akebono pads and rotors. I prefer the OEM rotors because they are designed to combat "lot rot" better than the average rotor and they seem to be...

    Best value for 235/60R18 application?

That looks like a pretty good deal to me with today's prices. Pirelli isn't a second-rate brand either. I'd go for it if I were in your position.

Troubleshoot Aisin AF40-6 "popping" and "knocking" shortly after flush with Amsoil SS LV ATF

Have the motor mounts/transmission mounts been checked for play?

Looking for a tire suggestion . Mazda CX-9

My vote would be a crossover tire, like the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 or Continental CrossContact LX25.

Road Force balanced and still vibrate

I had this happen with 2 sets of Continentals on my Regal. Same symptoms. My guess is one or more of those tires needs to be replaced because it's not round.

What's the flow rate like on rear calipers with motive pressure bleeder?

Sounds about normal based on my experiences. I usually use the Motive pressure bleeder and put the mityvac on the brake bleeder.

    wiper blade recommendations

I’ve been putting the Trico Ultra on my families fleet for over a year now. They are between 8-10 dollars a blade on Rockauto and are made in the USA. I can get wiper blades for 4 vehicles for what the local auto part stores want for 1. I haven’t had great success with the Bosch Icons. They...

    Roof replacement from hail damage!?

I've heard of this particular thing being very common in Florida. My understanding is this ordeal has caused everyone's home insurances to skyrocket and many insurances companies to pull out of FL. My question is - how is said company making money? If the insurance company is sending you a...

    Michelin Defender 2

I'm curious as to how they do in the snow. They don't look like they have much room for snow to grab. That continuous center rib should make for nice steering feel.

    Crossover/SUV Tires 2018 Sienna

Not to mention you can turn the front wheels really tight which I’d venture contributes to the wear. Plus the FWD Siennas it’s very easy to spin the front tires.

CQ.UK 3.0 Ceramic did not last. Or did it?

Have you been regularly washing it? It's possible some contaminants got on the ceramic coating, IE rail dust.

    New SUV Suggestions

I hate that they are made in China, but perhaps the Buick Envision could be a nice choice? They look pretty sharp and Buicks tend to get the highest reliability markings from the GM brands.

600k Kia went through 9 engines

Wow. My Dad knew a guy who drove as a courier. He had a 2012 Cruze that made it to 650k on the original engine and I believe 1 transmission. Once he got tired of the Cruze he got a Trax and he made it to 370k with an alternator being the only non maintenance item.

    Crossover/SUV Tires 2018 Sienna

Thanks for the insight. The Michelin Latitude winter tires are wearing just fine which rules out suspension and driving habits. Tire pressure is never below 36 PSI. I was running them at 40 but the van seemed unsettled on the interstate so it got bumped down to 38. For anyone interested, it...

2019 Chevy Trax, any "watch outs"?

Like the Cruze, that engine tends to have some PCV issues anywhere between 50-120k. If it goes bad, you have to replace the intake manifold and the valve cover (I think it's about $250 in parts). Sometimes the plastic cooling system components such as the water outlet and thermostat can go bad...

General Altimax Arctic vs Michelin Cross Climate 2

I somewhat have first hand experience in this. My sister ran General Altimax Artics in the winter for 5 winters. This year rather than replace both the all seasons and the winter tires, we elected to get a set of CrossClimate 2s. My sister routinely drives her 2010 Malibu times when they don’t...

Buick was too early? Tour X

I still love my 2019 TourX as well with many people asking me about it over the 2.5 years I've owned it. One guy actually called it a Volvo. It's a nice car with great utility while not feeling so much like an appliance. I've fit some pretty crazy stuff in my TourX, including a low back sofa. It...

    Michelin Defender 2

I noticed the Defender 2s the other day as well. It specifically says in the Discount Tire description that these are a replacement for the Defender XT. I'm thinking that these tires are the the Defender XT with some of the technology from the CrossClimate 2s. It looks like they have PANO...

Kia Forte rear parking brake adjustment 4 wheel disc w/ rear parking shoes

If the previous owner never used the parking brake, it's entirely possible. If you don't use it you loose it, especially in a salt belt state.
