What are you working on today?

Yes I do :-) to be fair, my "garage" is an old gas station with a workshop.

Weight Distributing Hitches - What they do.

Yeah, that Plymouth had around 90 HP - I guess the whole thing was a rather slow affair. Regarding the wheels, pretty much every camper over here has the wheels smack down right in the middle. Allowed tongue/hitch weight ist usually around 170 pounds, and max speed 50 mls (there are some...

Weight Distributing Hitches - What they do.

I always wondered why vintage American camper trailers never had the wheels in the middle (like here in Europe) - how do you get this thing balanced?

Have you ever felt an invisible presence

Well - so called "science" is usually just the current state of error. Unsecure folks usually get their comfort out of "science", so they don't have to deal with their uncertainty and fears. They just can explain everything that makes them uncomfortable away with "science". If you would have a...

    The movie Asteroid City

For the record - the colors of the trailer are all over the place. In cinema it looks more like this: Warm highlights and Technicolor 3-strip look - yes, absolutely, but nothing like in the trailer.

    Tired of pets dying.

Yeah, I also get way too attached to them. After loosing several cats over the years, I just couldn't take it anymore, so I stopped having pets about 10 years ago. Still miss having a cat though.

    Lets talk antivirus

Real viruses are not really a thing anymore - most damage is done by phishing and browser extensions that extract your logins/passwords these days.

What are you doing right now?

Still trying to bleed my brakes. I done this many times before and never run into such a road block. The car (41 Chevy) was just sitting for 10 years, so the brake system needs some TLC. Swapped the leaking front cylinders, pulled the MC, cleaned it, new fluid, bench bleed etc - the whole 9...

    School me on camera tripods

I'm a professional cinematographer for 30+ years now, and personally I prefer Vinten and O'Connor for a number of reasons (reasons that don't apply to still photography) - during the last decade most of the better brands where bought by Videndum though: O'Connor, Avenger, Gizo, Manfrotto, Joby...

    Brake lights need a rethink?

With the blindingly bright LEDs these days, I rather wish for brake lights to go out when the car comes to a stillstand - like when you are waiting in front of a traffic light.

    Yokohama Geolander any good?

I have those on my Explorer as all year tires, I really like them a lot. I'm not doing actual off-roading though, just driving some forest/field roads from time to time.

Upon which automotive hill will you die?

If I'm lucky, I got maybe 20-25 years left. I never bought a new car in my life, and never will. Total waste of money IMHO. For a daily driver, I probably never get a car newer than 2005ish - actually I lean more towards the 80s lately, cause than I can fix pretty much everything myself -...

Two Annoying American Auto Manufacturers' Practices

In my 2002 Explorer they replaced the backup light (clear lens) with orange blinker bulbs.

Two Annoying American Auto Manufacturers' Practices

Here in Germany red turn signals are considered super fancy, but you only can have them on US cars up to a certain year - I think it is 1991 - if your car is newer, you have to convert to amber.

How long will a freezer last like this?

My fridge is now almost 80 years old - they don't make them like this anymore.

Tune up in a bottle, whats your favorite?

No, not to you. I just wondered that in a forum full of motor nuts, nobody seems to care, and just try to make the symptoms go away as a band aid, instead of looking into the cause - incomplete combustion.
