M1 FS/EURO 0W-40 vs Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40 - which would you run?

Hey everyone, I have a Mercedes with a V8 (non-AMG) that requires MB 229.5 spec oil. I'm located in Canada and have found two options locally on sale: Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro (also labeled as M1 FS 0W-40) Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 Both meet the 229.5 specification, and from what I can tell...

    Mercedes V8 Canada 229.52 or 229.61

After giving it some thought, I think I am sold on going with the Mobil 1 Euro 0W-40, which I believe is more well known as M1 FS 0W-40 around here. I see it is now on sale at CT for 37.99 CAD along with being a 229.5 or I could go with the Pennzoil Euro 5W-40 which I outlined above since it...

Mercedes Benz 4.0 V8 Plastic Oil Drain Plug ? Replace or Re Use?

My apologies it is a GLC 63 AMG, they do not come with a dip stick or anywhere to suck fluid from in this model. Other model's do get sucked since they have a dipstick portion I was told.

Mercedes Benz 4.0 V8 Plastic Oil Drain Plug ? Replace or Re Use?

Hi everyone, I’ve got a Mercedes with a gas V8 engine that’s a few years old, and I’m planning to do the oil change myself for the first time. I stopped at the Mercedes parts counter in a nearby town to pick up what I needed, and the guy told me, “It says you don’t need a new plug or gasket” —...

Anyone used a Chlorine Dioxide Odor Bomb before?

I recently purchased the Auto Shocker by Biocide Systems, a chlorine dioxide odor bomb that's designed to neutralize tough smells. It's supposed to work similarly to ozone but with a safer profile. The one I got is meant to run for 4 to 24 hours, and I’m using it to tackle a persistent rodent...

    Mercedes V8 Canada 229.52 or 229.61

I thought VW 504.00/507.00 was the toughest standard, is that true? cuz the .52 one has with VW 504.00/507.00 However the Pennzoil has MB 229.5 approval which is stronger then .52 along with BMW LL-01, Porsche A40; VW 502.00, VW 505.00 Just trying to figure which is the better oil based on specs

Wierdly so I thought the same thing but my manual specifically showed .52 or .61 for my vehicle / gas engine. Mine is a gas engine indeed.

    Mercedes V8 Canada 229.52 or 229.61

Hello all, I have a Mercedes with a gas 4.0L V8 that's only a few years old. I usually got dealer oil changes, but I’ve decided to start going indie or doing it myself from now on. I checked the manual and it calls for MB 229.52 or 229.61 spec oil. I'm in Canada, and I can get either of these...

Hello everyone, Two weeks prior, I installed a new air filter in my vehicle, ensuring it was correctly seated and the airbox was tightly secured. Who here uses a torque wrench on the cv axle nut?

Hello, I recently needed a new CV axle for my vehicle, and while I was there, I asked the shop to replace the wheel bearing as well, just to address any potential front-end issues. Towards the end of the repair, the shop called me in to show me an oil leak, and I watched as they finished up...
