    Calling GON: am I crazy?

There's an entire car at a yard about an hour away, luckily! I'm thinking I can put together a package deal for the bumper, lights, and whatever additional brackets I may need. He's asking $150 for the bumper, complete, so I'm thinking $200 will take everything if I do the removal.

    Calling GON: am I crazy?

Thanks for all the feedback, guys! This will be my 5th N* car, no head gasket fears here. I have yet to have one fail on me, plus being a '95 this should have had green coolant in it from the factory. I'll obviously be doing a cooling system service with the correct GM cooling system tablets...

    Calling GON: am I crazy?

I might be out of my mind, but I'm a sucker for a clean Cadillac. I won this lovely example for a whopping $525 (a touch over $900 with fees): Clean title, 1 owner, 68k miles. Looks to be fully loaded for an SLS: cell phone, heated seats, sunroof, Bose CD/Cassette. I won't be able to pick it...

    sparekorea.com review: EXCELLENT!

A quick Google search of the site here yielded no hits for this particular vendor, so now that my order has officially arrived I thought I'd post a quick review: Back story: our 2006 Kia Spectra developed a fuel leak during the extreme cold snap here in the Midwest, which I discovered was...

2010 g37 sedan sport - best mt fluid?

Not sure about your G37, but I used HPL Cold Climate in my Buick's F40 transmission and it really cleaned up the shift action. The F40 is notorious for being finicky about it's fluid, and while it's not perfect when it's bone cold the HPL helped immensely.

Places to buy a Kohler replacement engine

Why not do a Kawasaki FJ180 swap? Looks to be about the same price as the Kohler, and easier to find. I'd rather have the Kawi, myself. FJ180V

    New garden cart

Arrived today and assembled in ~30 minutes, here's a quick review: This guy is a brute, especially for the $150.99 I paid when it was on sale. Home Depot offers the same one with free shipping, as well, for those not interested in doing business with Amazon. If one of these has been on your...

4 year old TCL 6 series screen problem

Fair enough, but don't expect much more reliability from one to the other. Google TV is a great experience, however. I think you'll find it intuitive. Not as fluid as Roku, but that's tough to beat.

4 year old TCL 6 series screen problem

Do you have a Micro Center near you? They currently have a refurbished 65" Sony A80L OLED for $899.99. That's about the BEST deal on a 65" television you can get right now. If you want to stick to a 75", the TCL QD7 @ $699.99 is probably your best bet in a "value" set. You do NOT want anything...

    2010 Fusion Sport Misfires

Autolites bite again! I'm guessing it was really a combination of fake coils and pad plugs, either way it sounds like you have the problem licked. How good did you get at pulling the plenum? :ROFLMAO:

    I now have a $72k shoulder

I know a sure fire way to prevent the injury: strength training and proper techniques. That, and don't do the things I did. Such as: trying to prevent a jet ski and pontoon from contacting, drunk scaling my very steeply pitched driveway after an ice storm and falling down, slip n' slide at 30...

    I now have a $72k shoulder

Oh man, the winters were absolutely the worst. Door open constantly, especially when a car needed pushed in and out. We only had one large door for our entire shop. RE: recovery. I appreciate that tip, that's what my doc said as well. I'm making sure to keep it in the sling whenever I'm doing...

    I now have a $72k shoulder

Appreciate that, and one day of fighting is plenty to form an appreciation for the job. I have to imagine that being a Midwest mechanic contributed A LOT. Having to spend 45 minutes beating on a rotor to remove it, multiple days on wheel hubs, WEEKS removing rusty cab bolts for engine swaps. I...

    I now have a $72k shoulder

At the ripe old age of 35.... I'm currently 3.5 weeks removed from having two labrum tears and one rotator cuff tear repaired in my left shoulder. This is the price to be paid for choosing to be a mechanic, I suppose. My two surgeons were amazing and I was off the pain meds within 3 days. At...

    2006 Trailblazer U1040

You really need to load test the power and ground circuits for the EBCM. Easiest way I've found to do so was to buy a 9006 headlight pigtail and use it in conjunction with a 9006 bulb. Makes for an easy way to test blower motor resistors/modules that require a load in order to function, as...

Chuy's moving HQ to Florida after sale to Darden

Never heard of Chuy's, but we used to have a Chevy's and it was hands down the most disgusting food served anywhere. Horrible quality. I was glad to see them fail, if that's what they were serving.

    New windows: cost opinion?

Sorry about the missing info! Duh. They're foam-insulated vinyl, SoftLite brand windows made to spec for this particular company (leaving the installer's name out for sake of simplicity). We're in WI and the windows are made in OH, so not "local" but still made in the Midwest.
