2023 ES350 multiple system errors and root cause

ty. this makes perfect sense (for my symptoms). feel like a dummy for not thinking it through that lens.

2023 ES350 multiple system errors and root cause

I've seen this on newer Honda/Acura and newer Mazda: one discrete fuel system issue (one a simple, cost-free fix, other high pressure fuel pump failure) causes the Apocalypse Dash with unrelated alerts chiming (radar cruise, lane-keep, etc) My wild a. guess is that this is on purpose because...

Costco: stores open for exec. tier 1 hr early, starting Jun 30

US stores. I like getting my news from the Daily Mail cuz they sprinkle lots of over-the-top clickbait and a health dose of brain-rotting celebrity gotcha pics. Perfect add pack. here's a US link...

$300/mo Tesla 3 Lease has me thinking about taking the plunge

Depends on where in Canada you live. If you're in the Prairies, you're probably better off w/a hybrid. If this is for coastal BC, go for it.

Costco: stores open for exec. tier 1 hr early, starting Jun 30

If you haven't heard....about (#)!* time. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/yourmoney/article-14798333/costco-returns-perk-help-shoppers-beat-lines.html "Costco is introducing a new perk that will allow certain members to have their own private shopping hours. Executive tier members will be...

    2025 CX-5 rental review

and the ATF filler plug is accessible under the air box. theoretically you can use a Mityvac to do an ATF change. though I imagine you won't get much old fluid out at each exchange. If there ever should be a "Kirkland Signature" car, it's the CX-5....and I mean that as a compliment.

    Quality replacement refrigerator?

2025 Kenmore has zero to do with "Golden Age" Sears/Kenmore (rebadged Golden Age Whirlpools/Maytags). If you are looking at a store brand appliance (Kenmore, Best Buy-Insignia, etc.) or less-established brand (Midea, etc), double check the parts availability. Even Haier (owners of GE...

    Valvoline Cash Back-$5

Panhandling via Venmo = IRS reporting once they hit $400, lol. and if they never file, IIRC that triggers withholding from money transmitters like Venmo.

    Quality replacement refrigerator?

if you want the fewest issues, whatever you buy, don't connect the water line. make your ice in trays and use the tap or a pitcher for water.

    Quality replacement refrigerator?

No one universal answer. ask 3 people, you'll get 4 different answers Go to the Youtube channel: Ben's Appliance and search for "best refrigerator" https://www.youtube.com/shopcollection/SCUCRFVOlKSJrocj5ycmxDm4z8wEGNMEuik5A?scp=EAE%3D and compare his list to your wants. Or get a Costco...

    Valvoline Cash Back-$5

anyone who hasn't claimed their Valvo-rebate yet....set up your Venmo beforehand. I was dumb. thought that it would be no problem doing this without Venmo. The payment comes from a company called "Aisle." I wound up creating $5 worth of hassle for myself. YMMV.

What brand of NAS hard disk? No SSD's please...

Decades ago now (lol), Toshiba was head and shoulders the best. IMO now, whatever top-tier brand (WD Segate) is on sale with two caveats: don't buy anything that advertises itself as "green" "energy efficient" (savings not worth the complexity, constant on-off cycling, potential failures)...

Drain or Extract the oil on problem car?

depends on you, your age, your health. since it sounds like you never used ramps before....find someone in real life to give you ramp/oil change safety tips. most people would be happy to share tips, especially if you say thanks with a 6-pack, lol. if not...read up; and safety first! PS, if...

    BP considers sale of Castrol

the world has too many top-tier engine oil brands. as a buyer, it's a golden age, especially with rebates. Hope someone with deep pockets (Sinopec?, whoever is thr big dog in India) takes Castrol and keeps it alive.

Strange problem. Front end wobble after backing up a long distance. 2006 V6 Accord.

I wish I never sold my 7th gen. Accord; and just lived with the annoyance of playing driveway valet. 18 years, 178,000 miles. my only issues were pothole-salt related: cv joints, bearings, rusted-out steering fluid line, worn axle.

What’s your mileage limit for buying a used car?

this rules works less wells the further south you go (>90 deg days)... think twice about buying a vehicle with 4 tinted out windows and/or aftermarket rims...especially with engines popular with the boosting crowd, lol

    2025 CX-5 rental review

cx5 is a great car, but not perfect. if you are thinking of this car and live where it regularly >90, stress-test the A/C before buying. IMO, the system needs more BTU and is only acceptable where I live. sure if you live in Miami-PHX, you get used to the heat....but still. the system...

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

I don't get it why people here make life so hard.....Toyota (their suppliers, their design process) I trust making their engines robust enough to handle 0w-16 for the warranty period....Stellantis? lol, no. IIRC Toyota 0w16 has lots of moly; surely for a good reason...
