Go ahead. I wouldnt do any less than a Euro grade 30 in a turbo engine. 5W40 will work just fine.

This morning Two 2013 F150s with the 3.7 Each got Motorcraft synblend 5W20 and a Pentius PLXL10575 filter a 2013 F250 6.2 Motorcraft 5W20 synblend, ST2 filter a 2017 and 2018 F150 with the 2.7 Ecoboost Each got Motorcraft synblend 5W30 and an ST11955 filter

Its running just fine on the 5W40 👍

Would this oil suffice for a 6-7k run in my 3.7 F150? Draining the motorcraft 5w30 and quart of HPL EC30 tomorrow with 2k on it. Ill cut open the filter and post pics. Never ordered the HPL oil I wanted to run so if the Euro is good thatll work for now.
