    Preferred Hot Tub Brands

We had a CalSpa. Agree with nearly all of Tdbo's comments. The energy efficiency with the foam was nice - until it wasn't trying to solve leak issues. Ours made it about 15 years before we moved on with some larger repair bills looming. I would not purchase CalSpa again though... Dealer...

Tip- don't say yes to your wife on a one-night anniversary overnight without checking the rates

The second you said Colorado Springs and a high cost stay, it was obvious its the Broadmoor. If you know, you know. If you go, stay two nights, not one.

Insane Electric Rate Increase $508.68/1522 kWh

Just a comment on the links that were to "enlighten" me: Everything California Solar Mandate on, with an AB or SB, is California specific, and has little to do with all 50 states. The SOLAR act is actually a bill in opposition to solar farms being placed on certain agricultural lands. Having...

Insane Electric Rate Increase $508.68/1522 kWh

So the objection is to the federal tax implications of the incentives and the tax code. Not the same as "regulation". of the solar industry affecting all 50 states...

Insane Electric Rate Increase $508.68/1522 kWh

So what was the solar legislation forced on all 50 states? There are zero "requirements" for residential solar in Minnesota, only tax incentives to adopt. Was it really forced on anyone then when adoption is voluntary?

$1500 CAN for PDR to fix a door?

Door ding in a similar location on my F150 was $200 and change 6 months ago. Not surprised given the length that in USD that is an $1100 repair... Cost to just replace the door will be higher given the 2 tone paint and everything else...

Weeding Out The Bad Fuel Stations

As others have stated, pure speculation at best. Not going to dispute that perhaps you did find a different supplier somewhere. but calling out one specific brand of delivery service is a miss... All markets are different, but in general the fuel comes from the same supply with different add...

lowering tire pressure to ~20 PSI for beach?

15-20 psi was always the ticket back when I frequented the outer banks. Guessing folks who say that isn't necessary haven't been there. The one time I forgot to air down resulted in a very quick minor stuck - know when to stop digging - aired down and a quick tug and we were back in business.

    Backing into parking spaces

Many industries that practice a safety culture teach that backing in is statistically safer, and my particular employers statistics bear this out. Quick sample for today: 80% of the units in our smaller parking area today are backed in / pulled through. Two fleet units not backed in, and the...

    Simpletire Trailer Tire age

Tires were not marked on sale or any other type of indication it was old stock. If it were, I would not have bought. These go on a boat trailer that I run a three tire rotation on with the oldest becoming the spare. They never physically wear out, they all "time" out.

    737 for trans Atlantic Flights

While on a long flight a widebody would be preferred, the reality is there are tradeoffs. Not every long route requires an airplane with the capacity a widebody provides... Using the narrowbody plane allows many routes to be non stop that would not otherwise be economically viable and would...

    Simpletire Trailer Tire age

How old of a tire would you accept when you order tires online? Just received my recent order from Simpletire for a Hankook Vantra trailer tire and it was manufactured the 48th week of 2020. So it is pretty much exactly 4.5 years old. I've ordered these tires in the past from Tirerack and...

Any experience with Spectrum for internet?

Been with Spectrum 20 years now at our current location. Expensive, but in my case they are delivering what they sold to me and advertised. Service at my address has been reliable and consistent, and when I've had issues, its been resolved in a day or two, usually with the modem being...

    Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady

Been happy with them on our 2017 Fusion. As others have mentioned- maybe look at the maxlife if you do dedicated winter tires.

Congress removes CARB and other state's ability to set emissions standards

May want to hit the brakes on celebrating... The advisory bodies to congress advised them that the process they used in this vote likely is not legal and will be tossed when it goes to court, which is a guarantee. On top of that, so many posters above seem to think this means everything CARB...

Driving to Chicago for an extended weekend. Which pizza place to visit?

The family has liked Lou Malnatis as its favorite for deep dish. I'd skip Portillos - overrated. Maybe its since Portillos are here in the Twin Cities now too, but I'd rather go to Al's for an Italian Beef Sandwich in Chicago...

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

Does DI unlock increased fuel efficiency? As in all things, there are tradeoffs like the the NOx issues.

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

Own two vehicles with start stop. Don't mind it on either. Also own a plug in hybrid and it does exactly what we bought it for. Haven't experienced battery replacements that are any different than the pre-start stop. Haven't replaced a starter yet on either. Last starter I did was at lower...

Any flagship phones that have microSD slot?

The S series Samsung Phones stopped having expandable storage after the S20 series. Been a long while since their "flagship" phones have had that option. Some of the lower tier "A" series phones may still off this though...

Hankook did not, and just expanded their US production in Tennessee quite dramatically. Doesn't seem to be a priority to them...
