My understand was that Walmart oil change just used bulk SOPUS product and anything beyond that was a customer request shelf pull product. There is no bulk Warren/Supertech oil used at Walmart.

Had a "Tech 2000" oil filter from the late 1980's that was bought from Wal-Mart back then. Was the house brand before "SuperTech" came along. Used it on a beater 1992 Ford F150 with the 300 I6 around 2017. Must have been 25+ years old. Seem to do fine.

IIRC, Clarcor bought Baldwin in the 1980's and then acquired Hastings in the 1990's. Seems when Parker Hannifin took over Clarcor they ran Hastings as basically white canned Baldwins from everything I saw the last few years. I know Parker Hannifin dropped the Hastings line all together in 2023.

Yeah, I might reconsider them if I knew this size would come with metal end caps. I had seen a previous cut open of this particular filter and it looked decent but I guess everything is a pig in poke until you open them.
