Off hand that I directly know of is the current generation Wrangler and Gladiator. There has been numerous instances of unexplained vehicle fires that just start with origins in the area of the electric power steering pump motor. A few lawsuits over the wiring and pump connection are ongoing...

A lot of newer vehicles with electric power steering are catching fire that start with a high amperage short due to routing issues of the power cable or partially connected power cables.

Still though, would think 5W-20 and 5W-30 would the Lions share of vehicles to keep a couple of drums around for and then keep the smaller quantity in the other grades.

Interesting the amount of OEM branded oil. Here in the USA, it is maybe 4-5 major brands, one house brand but almost never any OEM brands with maybe the exception of Motorcraft branded oil.

I am surprised also. I have used that same filter on gas applications and would think using it on a diesel would stress it but it seems to handle it well.

Had a 98 and 01 Cavalier with the same engine. On a cold engine, I could easily go top down with a standard oil filter metal band swivel wrench and get the filter off. Granted, it is by blind feel but once you figure it out, easy peasy from then on.

Why should they? They will install a silicone ADBV if the OEM application calls for it like they do for Ford applications with the B7491 that replaces Motorcraft FL-910S applications, but if they OEM application does not require it, they are not going to expense it for what is a brand that is...

I think it is just lubricant on the forming dies and mandrels for the center tube manufacture mixed with metallic dust from the stamping process.

So long as the listing UPC is unique for a case of 3, probability is high you will get a sealed case.
