    Peace of mind of what?

Anyone doing a 'frankenbatch' of oil?

I do the occasional "Witches Brew" of various orphaned bottles and jugs of various brands and grades of oil. Never had an issue or concern with it. I knew of a shop truck at a local independent that all it got was the collected drippings from all the oil changes they did with many customer...

12 pack AC Delco UPF63R Amazon

Amazon just cancelled my backorder for the last 4 months with no warning, but I am able to order it again with a higher price with a so called "1 to 2 weeks" wait. That is a little bit dirty on their part if you ask me.

Oldest oil filter you ever used?

If the UPC was the same, I am betting someone just bought a newer one and returned this on that receipt.

    John Deere AM125424 Cut Open

Have for your amusement a cut open John Deere AM125424 oil filter that was in service for 50 hours on my Cub Cadet with the Kohler 22HP V-Twin motor. Oil used was Delvac 1300 15W-40. This is a pretty tight filter with 78 pleats I counted with a crimp seam. Has decent open louvers with also a...

2023 Wrangler JL 2.0 rental review

JL/JT are lifestyle vehicles. When you try and box them in and compare to other vehicles, they fail miserable when it comes to ride quality and creature comforts. Off Road and they are in their own category and probably the largest supported aftermarket of any vehicle.

What is the best way to get a snake out of a car?

That snake is gone. Probably in the neighbors yard fixing to scare the crap out of them.

Post your latest oil filter change

Sounds like she has you pretty well trained.................. Kidding aside, I am surprised just about any woman would be brand cognizant to demand a specific filter. Most are lucky to remember it needs changing at all.

The perks of ordering Valvoline direct from their website

Kind of nice they offer the service when most other oil companies will not. Basically, boils down to how people value their time and ease of convenience? I would imagine the farther someone is away from either Walmart or other box store retailers, the more attractive this would be.

Rural King supposedly replacing Prime Guard with Wix.

This guy has put his money where his mouth is and has about 4 or more cut opens of USA made factory OEM, FRAM, Purolator, WIX and Champs with blown pleats across multiple vehicles. I have yet to have a bad Asian made oil filter. You do you boo, but this guy is not gonna regularly reward...

Rural King supposedly replacing Prime Guard with Wix.

Does not really matter if it is 100% sourced and made in the USA if it made like crap.

Highline Warren to produce Mobil 1 filters

I am pretty sure it is the same situation with Autozone and the STP name. Autozone just pays a name licensing fee to Energizer Holdings that owns the STP name but Autozone is on the hook for sourcing the filters they sell under the STP name and any warranty. Energizer Holdings has probably zero...

Would think the FRAM offers would cover that angle if it was a thing of any significance.

Moving time: 8 Valvoline VO-106 oil filters, USA made

Filters are tough sell here. You are competing with other sellers on the web that have deep commercial shipping discounts that can make their per unit cost with shipping much cheaper. You almost have to give them away.

Champ PH2867... Well, this is disappointing.

Not unheard of for filter makers to contract with another to supplement or round out their catalog offerings. While they are overall competitors with each other, they do need each other at any given time to pick up each others slack.

Rural King supposedly replacing Prime Guard with Wix.

I wonder if Tariff costs are impacting the decision to move to WIX?

4.7l dodge sounds like a diesel after synthetic oil change.

Risk vs. Reward conundrum. Stay the course or try something new and possibly induce a problem?

4.7l dodge sounds like a diesel after synthetic oil change.

Agreed, but I mentioned it in the tone that unless there is another problem to address, there is no need to change things up. People are always coming on this site asking for advice on high mileage engines asking what oil to use ignoring what got them there in the first place. Unless they have...

4.7l dodge sounds like a diesel after synthetic oil change.

Still valid for the OP's case as he is not burning oil.

4.7l dodge sounds like a diesel after synthetic oil change.

I tend to tell people with high mileage engines that want to change things up, is to stick with what got them there in the first place.
