    Need riding lawn mower recommendations

My Scag Freedom Z zero-turn was the best $5,000 investment I've ever made. When it rains in Lower Alabama, the grass grows like crazy, so I've been cutting my 2.5 acres every 5-6 days lately. Compared to my old Craftsman lawn tractor, the Scag cut my mowing time in half. My neighbor bought a...

Fishing weights! See it all the time. Makes the eco-crazies happy because there's no lead.

    S62 Oil Change - Mobil 1 0w40

That's a humongous oil filter, a lot bigger than on our M54. Have fun and watch out for the Po-Po!

    Oil for 328 BMW ?

I've had great luck for the past 40k miles with German Castrol 0w-30 in my wife's car with the M54 engine. Pretty sure you have the N52 engine, so not sure you'll have the same luck I've had. There are a lot of Bimmers out there with M1 0w-40, though.

    Pimiento Cheese anyone?

Down South, we say "puminner AND cheese." Or, when my younger brother was around 8, he thought they were saying "minners and cheese." That's stuck around in our family since.

    Mobil 1 5w-30 truck & suv

Bought a 5-quart jug for $9 at Wally World a couple of weeks ago. Wal-Mart is definitely phasing it out. Don't know about Exxon-Mobil.

    Briggs exended life series engines

About 150 hours on the Briggs ELS 26hp on my Scag Freedom Z. Knock on wood, runs like a champ! I change the oil (Mobil 1 TDT 5w-40) at the end of the cutting season, which is about 40-45 hours on the oil. FYI, the bad reputation the large Briggs engines got was from a poorly designed flat air...

    FAQ - GC ( German Castrol )

Pep Boys people in Mobile, AL said exactly same thing. No more GC. Bummer! Have no reason to shop there anymore.

Kawasaki FR/FS/FX V-twin initial oil change

I think I've got the ZT-2800s. I think they went to 3100s in either '08 or '09. I used Mobil 1 15w-50. Best money I've ever spent on lawn equipment. My yard is flat as a pancake, so you probably made the right choice with all those hills.

Kawasaki FR/FS/FX V-twin initial oil change

I'm running Mobil 1 TDT 5w-40 in my Scag Zero-Turn with a 26hp Briggs ELS engine and my Kawasaki Prairie 650 ATV with a V-Twin. I live in Lower Alabama, where it gets HOTTTTT! Consumption is nil on the Kawi and the Briggs sips only a few ounces per cutting season.

    BMW M5 tires

Very pleased with the Bridgestone RE960s (245/40-18) on my wife's 530i with sport package. Of course, the 530i isn't an M5, but when I drive it, I make sure the adaptive suspension is performing properly, which sometimes puts me directly in the dog house. It's worth it, though!

    Anyone used these ramps?

I've got the 12K set and they're the only ramps I can use for my wife's BMW with sport package. You're right, there's not as much room as traditional ramps, but I don't have to worry about clearance getting on and off the ramps. Highly recommended for low profile vehicles.

    Best source for BMW parts?

I don't know about shipping to Canada, but I've had great luck with autohausaz.com for parts for my wife's BMW and my daughter's Volvo. The only glitch I've had is when the coil packs for the BMW got stuck in last winter's snowstorm.

    Ford Excursion V-10 98k should I go 5w40?

Castrol Edge 5w-30 certainly has quietened my 5.4L 2001 F250. Had 5w-20 Mobil Clean in it before and noisy would be an understatement. Forgot to add, truck has 176K miles.

GC 0w-30 or M1 0w-40 for short trips?

Pep Boys no longer carries GC in my area, so I'm down to AutoZone for a regularly stocked product. I did get O'Reilly's to order a case when they had Syntec on sale, but they only found one case in their distribution area.
