    Treadwear - GY Reliants

Went and checked for fun and mine are 7-8/32 as well with 1 year and 8500 miles on them.. We'll see how long they make it. I haven't rotated yet, but am due for an oil change soon so they'll get moved then.

    Treadwear - GY Reliants

I should check the ones on my Wife's CRV as they're probably nearing 10k. I don't have any complaints about them so far. If I got 50k out of them I'd be happy for what I paid.

    Mounting a tire using fire

Its simply blasting the tire onto the rim. In my experience you better have an air compressor handy to start adding air as soon as its blown on to the rim, or it will just deflate and draw itself back off the rim after the explosion is over and the air rapidly cools inside the tire.

Low mileage late 2000 Jaguar XJL purchase considered

My uncle has one and it is one good looking and fine riding automobile.. It will most likely have electrical gremlins like most jag's, and all the other old/unused car stuff you'd expect. I don't know abut 20k, this is one of those oddballs's that's going to be worth what someone's willing to...

    Choosing a Generator

To me a diesel backup gen makes a lot of sense since it can be stored (the fuel) long term much better than gasoline. That is if you don't want a natural gas/propane gen. I just have a little 20yo 4k Champion that does everything I ask it to.. so I don't have many opinions on "good"...

2026 Ram 1500: The Hemi is back in business

I personally really enjoy my non e-torque hemi. Gas is cheap and I don’t dd my truck anyway. Plenty of power in all situations and a fairly simple motor I can work on if needed.

22 long rifle and 22 magnum

Yeah you shouldn't do that.. There is a reason Ruger single 6's come with 2 cylinders 1 for magnum and 1 for LR.. The chamber dimensions are different.

Champ PH2867... Well, this is disappointing.

Yeah I’d definitely run those if I already had them…

Cost for extended manufacturer warranty on a Bosch refrigerator

In my experience appliance warranties aren’t worth it.. the appliance repair guys in my area may just be exceptionally bad, but they came to the house 3x to fix my new Frigidaire wall oven and after a couple months without a functioning oven I figured out how to troubleshoot it myself and...

Came here to say Champ XL, but they’re not showing on Rockauto??

    Old Briggs recoil spring issue

I don't know how they fail, but they do... I've got a lot of old OPE and when one gets to where it takes a few pulls to 'catch' when trying to start or will squeal and shoot out the pull cord while running that's the only culprit. They momentarily engage while the motor is running and when they...

    Old Briggs recoil spring issue

I have that same mower! I'd suspect that your clutch failed. Sometimes they will work fine then not and cause that screeching sound and the damage you have. Really the only thing that could have caused that IMO. https://www.amazon.com/Oregon-43-404-Starter-Replacement-Stratton/dp/B0018U49UI

Prestone All Vehicle vs Peak All Vehicle?

That sounds like some old school real green antifreeze. I'd flush that out and replace with some long life coolant then continue on.. I haven't had any issues with Prestone in any of my fleet but most here seem to prefer the Peak.

Corroded and broken brake line - Planning on how to address?

Nice work! I’d never done brake lines before either and replaced all the hard lines on a Chevy tracker with that tool and nickel copper line. It’s not hard if you have all the right fittings

    Tow Capacity w/ aftermarket Hitch

I wouldn't want to tow max across the country, but if you are just going across town I wouldn't sweat it. The hitch itself wouldn't concern me at all.

    Simpletire Trailer Tire age

I'm not happy with anything over a year old, but I flat out wouldn't accept some that were 4.5yrs old.. Especially on a trailer tire that is going to probably age out vs wear out anyway.

Finally changed the ATF on my 2016 Ram 1500 ZF 8 speed

I think if I were to do it again I might spring for the PPE pan as well.
