I maintain they(Endurance ) all leak.
I see the date of manufacture is 2023.
That’s when Endurance came on the scene.
My Hyundai filter is in the same range of manufacture.
Could you take a flashlight into the tube and see if there’s a tiny stream of light below the spring plate at the bypass? This will detect any small “leak”.
Thanks
Yes to the above.
I didn’t make any claims as to how they will all perform, its their relative superiority even with the flaw. Btw, the Ultra(newer versions post 2023) would also fall in that category, given its similarity in design.
There are gaps in ALL FE and similar filters.
To date there have been ZERO non leakers passing this test. Go ahead and “assume” that those particle tests (Endurance..Amsoil ..and RP) by BR escaped this flaw. It’s called DENIAL.
I anticipate the response will now be be…they were “minimal...
I’ve used Firestone Sure Drive all season Grand Touring several times. Great value and performed well. Distributed by Bridgestone and made by Khumo in Viet Nam. I currently have 215/55/17 on my Hyundai Sonata Limited. They are VR rated in that size.
Metal to metal sealing is a challenge and we can see from these Endurance pics on failed bypass, that the area in contact is very sparse. These are close ups of area with leaks….on the sides where spring plate is at its narrowest. In my mind the only way to seal is with pliable gasket.
