    Are you happy?

Life isn't easy and we don't have it all, but we have our faith, family and health and that is MUCH to be thankful for.

    Last Day as a Dad

Very sorry to hear of the OP's situation. It is all too common but the solution is not to avoid marriage.

    2020 Ram 1500 (DT) - 25,000 mile update

You have a good memory, better than mine. Just went back through all my records and will update. I did forget the rust. Though it was minimal, the metal surrounding the rubber door checks at the bottom of each door was rusting. I was firm with Honda regarding this and they covered the repairs at...

    2020 Ram 1500 (DT) - 25,000 mile update

On one hand, that's what warranties are for. On the other, that's a lot of repairs needed this early! Hopefully moving forward during your ownership it will only need regular maintenance! Our 11 year old Accord has only needed a set of calipers and a wheel bearing. The 2 year old Jetta has...

    HPL Engine Cleaner - 4,430 miles - Toyota 2GR-FE

I ran it for the recommended 2000 miles and I saw no real change in the discoloration in the valve train area on my Honda 2.4. That may not tell the whole story but that's what my eyes can see.

    Pennzoil Platinum HM 5W-30 VOA

Funny, as I had always been a PP user in my Hondas for YEARS until recently when I switched to Mobil 1. After 2 OCI's on the Mobil 1 the valve train area began developing discoloration. I can't say it was caused by M1, and I'm not trying to say that. All I can say is that it was never present...

Fram Endurance - synthetic and wire backed

Odd. Can't find it on Fram website. It looks like the trademark registration is still pending as well.

    Post your latest oil change

That would be my conclusion as well, likely just a faulty filter. I suppose some engines are just more sensitive to start up noise than others.

I agree. Just sharing my experience.

    Post your latest oil change

I've never questioned when members say certain oil filters cause start up noise (due to failed ADBV or other reason) as it makes logical sense. An empty oil filter has to fill back up before the engine can build oil pressure, low oil pressure certainly could cause a variety of engine noises...

    Need Dexos1 Gen3 5W-30 Recommendation

The "best" Dexos oil is likely going to be M1 EP. As far as I know it still uses the highest percentage of "superior" base oils for that spec.

What has happened to customer service?

How sad. I work in one of those fields and take great pride in my work. Part of the problem is that companies refuse to adequately staff, train and pay employees properly so the result is a poor experience for the customer.

Do Heated Seats Cause Dry Rot

Yes, Honda / Acura leather has never impressed me. The seats in my Accord look good but that’s because I baby them.

Am I the only one who can make a mess changing oil?

I generally don't make a mess with my current set up, but sometimes it happens no matter how careful I try to be.

Do Heated Seats Cause Dry Rot

Heat will accelerate the process of leather drying out. Having said that, if you only occasionally use the heated seat function I don't think it will cause any significant issues. The seats on my Accord don't exhibit any "dry rotting" due to using the heated seat function, but I only use it...

Oh lord the 2023 Accord is ugly

I like it. You will all be singing its praises in a few years, watch. Just like the 10th gen. Upper trims are hybrid 2.0, all others 1.5.

    Bad gas/wrong octane - wow

My parents previous vehicle was a 2005 Chevy Uplander minivan (3.5 V6). That thing would ping even with premium though 87 was the requirement. It did so for as many years as they owned it and was still trucking along with 175K when they traded. Just goes to show "don't worry the ECM will retard...
