    Updated M1 FS 0w-40 - More PAO

Wonder if it still 'cleans'? It's still advertised on the UK site as providing "exceptional cleaning power". I will say that two months after putting it in our Defender, the rear main leak has gone from a drip or two a week to a drip or two a day. I'm assuming it's cleaned something up around...

    Using non-fancy Motor oils.

I've changed my opinion on Mannol. The more I look, the more issues I find. See... https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/would-you-continue-using-mannol.387135/ Pay the extra and buy an oil from a trustworthy manufacturer.

Where can you buy 10w-40 restore and protect oil?

There's numerous posts on here where people have cut filters open after running HPL oils to find them full of carbon.

Out of all those, I most certainly wouldn't be going to BITOG for oil filter advice.

    Haldex oil g060145 alternative?

Already on the case! Gearbox oil change next month, then I'll probably do the bevel gear, Haldex unit and rear diff in December. The thought of removing the propshaft and input flange is a little daunting though.

Where can you buy 10w-40 restore and protect oil?

Absolutely what I'd do! And probably cost you a fraction of the price too. And we know that stuff cleans without a doubt!

Problems with and an explanation of oil bath timing belts

I watched this a few weeks ago. I never thought to post it here. What I found odd was that he mentioned the 1.5DCi engine that I have in my Duster. That most certainly doesn't have any wet belts. He must be mistaken. I had a Mondeo with the 1.8TDCi and was the one who brought it to the...

    Haldex oil g060145 alternative?

That doesn't tell you much about the oil at all though.

    Why change your own oil?

It would have been fine. Agreed. Although I occasionally take my drain plug off with a small impact driver as I usually have it out for removing and installing my undertray.

    Finally going back to work

Should've told me sooner. I have a ton of stuff I need to do which is almost impossible with two young children. You could have come and done my job for a bit. :ROFLMAO: I'm often surprised by how old the clientele is around here. I can't believe you're 80!:ROFLMAO:

    Haldex oil g060145 alternative?

Seems to be quite a few alternatives around. I need to do the Haldex oil on our XC70 soon so also interested in the tried and tested alternatives.

An issue I was aware of when I purchased the car was heavy steering when the engine was at idle. I've already ordered a pump, but figured it would be worthwhile to give the system a flush first to see if it improves things. I pulled the Volvo up to the garage (which is currently having a...

Yeah, currently trying to source a replacement bracket. Most XC70's here in breakers seem to have 300mm discs, ours has 316mm. The bolt torqued up fine several times, and at least 2/3rds of the thread remained, but I'm not happy with it in the slightest. If I can't get a bracket sorted soon...

Correct! The total includes the purchase price. The idea is to get it to a standard for ~£5k and then maintain it until we decided what we are doing with it.

So here is where we are spending wise at the moment... That's 5,251.40usd for those curious at todays exchange rate. Hoping to have a well-sorted car for sub £5k.

When I did mine I masked the inside of the bore and then shoved a load of newspaper in there.

Which oil in an old 2010 peugeot 207 VTi sport that burns like a litre of oil every 300 miles and smokes a bit?😆

This is my go-to oil for most things these days. It really is a ‘one size fits all’. I however, would avoid Mannol… https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/would-you-continue-using-mannol.387135/

And same again on the N/S except I didn’t take any pictures. And the old pads… Things to note… Grub screws were missing from both discs. Brake disc shield/backing plate missing from O/S brakes. I’ve ordered a new carrier from a breakers and brand new carrier bolts from the dealer. I’m...

So the first job is out of the way but needs to be revisited. I noticed in its last MOT (annual roadworthy test here in the UK) that there was an advisory for work front brakes, so I planned to change them. They were however, totally shot. There was significant vibration under braking and late...
