Europe's plan to fix over tourism crisis

I feel like it's nowhere near that simple. More tourism means more people. Those 'more people' need somewhere to sleep so you need more hotels. Those 'more hotels' need to have reception staff, the rooms they stay in need cleaning so you have cleaning stuff, then the bedding and towels will...

Europe's plan to fix over tourism crisis

Tourism accounts for 35% of the Canary islands economy alone. They'd be stupid to try kick up a fuss about it in my opinion. I'd also argue the same for certain areas of Spain.

    MG3 Clutch Change

I did consider copper grease but it seemed like the wrong thing to use where plastic is involved. I was afraid it would cause the bush to swell or soften and fail again which is why I opted to play it safe and go for the red rubber grease. I did consider some Lanogaurd grease also.

    Smith & Allan

Smith and Allan and a reputable small British blender. Use without worry! I certainly trust them more than I do Mannol. An A3/B4 is perfectly suitable for use in a Volvo whiteblock! I use M1 0w40 FS in my Wife's Volvo XC70 D5.

    MG3 Clutch Change

Again, while wangling the gearbox back in with various jacks and bolting it up, and getting driveshafts back in etc I totally forgot to take pictures. I put the driveshafts back in, reassembled the hubs and changed the front brakes... And so, using a bit of fuel hose, a funnel and a...

    MG3 Clutch Change

This is where it gets interesting and the reason for the clutch failure becomes appareant. The new clutch kit came with a new clutch release rod, clutch fork, release bearing and the 3 blastic bushes that the rod sits in. It took me an hour with a hammer and suitable drive to get the old clutch...

    MG3 Clutch Change

I skipped taking photos for a little while at this point while I removed the gearbox mounts, the remainder of the bellhousing bolts and wangled the gearbox out of the car and then followed with removing the clutch itself. The clutch was worn down to the rivets and the bellhousing thick with...

    MG3 Clutch Change

In todays instalment of 'Cars You Don't Get In The US', my Mothers MG3! Back in 2021 my Mother decided to retire her '13 Suzuki Jimny as it was getting a bit rough around the edges, and was totally impractical with the impending requirements to look after the grandchildren. The Jimny had been...

    The Danger Ranger - 2003 Ford Ranger 2WD 3L 5spd

I have those Toyo Open Country AT3's on our Defender. Seem to work just as well as the BFG K02's they replaced. Always annoyed me we never got the V6 over here. Only a 2.5 4 cylinder diesel.

Trenching PEX for air to a shed?

Sounds very similar to what I have. I have a small shed in the garden where my compressor lives, mainly to save my ears when I'm working in the garage. I have 30 metres of 15mm HEP2O which feeds into a 100 litre tank in the garage, along with a regulator.

    Would you continue using Mannol?

I don't think you've understood. Mannol has outright lied about having approvals. They've been called out for lying saying their oils meet a specification when they don't, multiple times! You cannot trust what is on the bottle is what's in the bottle.

    Would you continue using Mannol?

But that's the problem with Mannol. We have no idea what specifications their products meet because they've been known to outright lie.

Flew on a brand new American 787-900

737-800 is LOUD. I've been on 4 in the last month and I really wouldn't like to spend more than a few hours on one.

Top electric vehicle registrations in Europe by company, April 2025

With the current very unstable and uncertain economic climate right across the world, the majority of people are looking to save a little money here and there. If they can get a similarly spec'd vehicle from another manufacturer for a reasonable amount less, they're going to do it. Chinese EV's...

What’s your mileage limit for buying a used car?

Depends on the car entirely. I bought a 3 year old Ford Mondeo back in 2012 with 100k on the clock and everyone looked at me like I was insane. That Mondeo turned out to be the most reliable car I ever had! At the time the Mondeo was up for sale for £6,400 in a car supermarket and one with half...

    Backing into parking spaces

It amazes me how frowned upon backing into spaces seems to be in the US. It's far safer to back into a space as you're able to take a look at the space and the surroundings before you reverse in. And then it goes without saying that pulling forward out of a space is far far safer than...

Top electric vehicle registrations in Europe by company, April 2025

Don't be so sure! I had a '21 Vauxhall Insignia (basically a Buick Regal but with a tiny 3 cylinder diesel engine) which was the very last GM car sold in the UK by Vauxhall after they got sold to Stellantis. While yes, there was Vauxhall badges on the steering wheel, exterior and keys, all the...

I don't think there's any GM cars available in Europe any more. The last being Vauxhall/Opel who have not long been sold to Stellantis.

I was dragged into the EV world kicking and screaming, only making the final decision when I realised the savings to be had. My daily driver is a company Cupra Born (which is the Seat offering) and it has opened my eyes no end to EV's and I absolutely love the thing! My Girlfriend has a VW ID3...

Interesting comparison between LEV and EV

The first eTron was known for being a bit of an power guzzler. My Curpa Born sits on the same platform as the Q4 Etron and I have been able to get 250miles out of my 58kWh battery on a few occasions now.
