My 2007 Ford Fusion turned 300K today.

The cross member does make for a tough pan removal. but if you take the trans motor mount off and jack the engine up 1-2 in. it's much easier. I changed atf to M1 atf even if it didn't have the FNR-5 cert.

My 2007 Ford Fusion turned 300K today.

I started using M1 in 1978 and have never had a car increase in oil consumption from the time I bought it till sold. If I do get engine leaks I either repair them myself or have it done. I learned how to care for vehicles while In the Navy. I was a jet engine mechanic and saw how aircraft were...

My 2007 Ford Fusion turned 300K today.

Let's see. I had a 1985 Ford Escort diesel that went to 300K before wrecked. A 91 Ford Ranger 3.0 that had 354K when sold. A 1990 Ford Tempo gas with 250K when sold. A 1996 Merc GM with 218K when sold. A 2007 Ford Focus with 175K when totaled. And my present 2017 Ford Fusion with 143K. All these...

My 2007 Ford Fusion turned 300K today.

The Fusion still runs great. The engine (2.3) uses about 8-10oz of oil with each 10k OCI. The head hasn't been removed, but I did change the VC gasket twice, along with a new starter 2 months ago and new injectors in November as well. The trans shifts perfect up and down, and I do change ATF...

Lucus red n tacky or Mobil 1?

My utility trailer Is about 17 years old and I packed the bearings when new. It probably has a few thousand miles on it and the bearings still run cool after e hyw run. No bearing failures. Also your better grease's will have separation for better lubrication.

2007 Ford Fusion Hits 299,000 Miles

I'll probably post a pic of the odometer in a few weeks when it makes it to 300K. Hopefully it does! LOL! Maybe a rundown of the engine maintenance and engine-trans repairs.

Mobil 1 Through 3 CRITICAL Engine Oil Tests

In the 45 years I've been using M1, none of my engines have had timing chain issues, none ever increased in oil consumption, none had any sign of lower compression, which shows me no ring coking, even after 200-350K. and all of my engines never suffered sludge or even varnish. All at 10K OCIs.
