This hits too close to home for me

Soup containers from Panera Bread work GREAT! Microwave safe too! Then on to the recycle bin after it gets stained. Kinda like turning in used oil, don't ya think?

Power company scam ... in person

As far as solar panel sales down here, I just tell them that I just want to run one thing, with battery backup. My A/C unit. Oh, we can't do that. Is always the answer. And they go away. They just want the real estate (roof) and net metering. Toal scam here.

An old MPG gizmo I found, the Elektro-Karb "sonic fuel vaporizer."

Ranks right up there with the Elon Electricity saver, and the Elon portable heater!

Anyone used a Chlorine Dioxide Odor Bomb before?

The last time I used one it worked well. The instuctions said to cover things that might get damaged, like dash steering wheel, some plastic parts. It was in a bag and all you had to do was add water to start the reaction. Or wet a sponge, which was part of the kit. It's been several years, so...

A Broken Water Softener, Cleaning Ooops, Giving Up

I had a similar problem when I lived up north. What I found on my system was that the brine is sucked out of the brine tank by means of an ejector orfice. Fresh water pulls the brine from the tank, and does not use a pump or anything to move it throught the zeolite. My drain line was overhead...

    Mazda 2.3L oil change problem

This is a guy after my own heart! No gloves, loves the feel of hot oil all over his hands! Anyway, he could have done this in a much "cleaner" manner if he would have used the filter drain plug too. My only question is, which O ring did he forget to replace? It was still in the bag when he got...

Soft goey stuff under radiator cap?

Looks like some additives have "condensed" in that low flow area. I wouldn't worry about it. Clean it if you wish.

    Layering Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic

Thanks for the reply. I can also offer that the bottle of Griots that I have is quite generous. After 3 years of using it, there is still most of the bottle left! If I don't use it, I feel that would be a bigger waste of product than just continue doing what I'm doing. I might look into the...

    Layering Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic

I use the Griots 3 in1 on the Mercedes. It is garaged, so it doesn't gather pollen. I had it detailed first to correct the dried on Ceramic coating that was put on the (probably too hot) hood by the dealership lot workers. Being in Florida, it doesn't get very dirty. I normally dust the car...

    Rant: EV Tires

The main differences that I saw while researching new tires was that manufacturers that characterized their product as EV tires, stated that they had lower rolling resistance to increase efficiency. Tires can be designed that way, like the Michelin GreenX label. I didn't see anything about load...

Solvent type for refillable pressurized sprayer?

I'd think you would want to go milder to protect those parts and yourself. Something more like mineral spirits or varsol. Final clean of metal parts could be a bit harsher, just brake cleaner from a can if it's going into piston calipers. 90% isopropyl alcohol would work of on brake parts I think.
