    Chevron Supreme Anyone

I used it a few times back when WM had it for $11.77 for 5 qts; was nice with a $4 or $5 rebate. Since then, I've realized that if I am willing to play the rebate game, I can get full synthetic for $12/5 qts so I haven't gone back to this or Maxlife. I'd have no problem using it again if I had...

Warranty Experience - Walmart EverStart Plus

I earlier bought a WM battery for my Sienna. At the 3 year mark, which is traditionally the point at which my batteries fail, I brought it in. It was replaced. Not sure I'll go back, because it did take a few hours, but if you don't mind waiting, its hard to beat that support for a warranty. And...

How thirsty MSFT is for my documents

I have disabled One Drive from starting up with Windows. Have you tried that? I use Word all the time, every day, and I never get the default setting changed to One Drive/cloud. Have you gone in to the Options dialog, and looked at the Save tab? I set my Default File Locations to desktop, and...

API finds nearly half of certified oils have issues

From the article: "With over 27,000 products licensed globally, the AMAP collects and analyzes over 1,000 samples annually. The recent findings revealed that 46% of these samples exhibited issues ranging from minor additive element reporting discrepancies to more concerning viscosity and NOACK...

279,000 miles - Mitsubishi Mirage engine teardown - top end vs pistons

Are you saying that because the gunk blocked off paths for the oil? Or that the paths weren't there, or were too small, to begin with? EDIT: Never mind, you said "factory problem." that means it was poor design or manufacturing.

279,000 miles - Mitsubishi Mirage engine teardown - top end vs pistons

Didn't watch the video, just fast forwarded to see how bad the pistons looked after a sparkling clean top end. Did he say when oil consumption started, or how much it was consuming?

Piston is right around 13:30 and after, but you can see the pic taken from the video in the OP.

Anyone here use Amazon fire stick?

We've used one for several years. We like it; only problem is the second one (a newer model) often loses volume (or the TV does) after it goes to sleep, so it requires a restart. A mild inconvenience; I might try Roku next time just to see how it compares. I do jailbreak my Fire Tablets, but...

Why are some drain plug gaskets ribbed?

Just outta curiosity--would that be from hitting a rock in the road, or have you found some drain pans are like that out of the factory? I'll keep these in mind if my current use of nylon/composite gaskets stops working for me.

Why are some drain plug gaskets ribbed?

OK, if I notice any leaking (I never do), I'll look at that as a stop-gap.

Why are some drain plug gaskets ribbed?

I have been looking for nylon drain plug gaskets for my vehicles, and I have seen a couple like the pic below, with ribs. What benefit does this provide?

Interesting read: Toyota's 1:6:90 rule about lithium

I didn't see the report linked to in the original article posted above; below is what I was able to get. It isn't really a report, but a summary of their conclusions:

    Death valley pics

I was hearing that Death Valley, because of the rain, would have a nice bloom of flowers. Heard anything about that?

Yeah it was interesting. 10 guys to run that artillery. Didn't know the human-gun ratio was that high. Thanks for posting.

    Fram PH4967, 7988 miles C&P

I agree, that's why I moved to the 3600 line a year or two ago--it inevitably looks better than the 3614 that is specced for 2 of my cars. Problem is, even the PH3600 that I took off at around 5000 miles didn't look like it could go 10K. So i've just moved to the TG3600. If that one gives me...

    Fram PH4967, 7988 miles C&P

Well I put another OCOD on it, so we won't know how the TG does for a while. I currently have a TG3600 on my Highlander at about 4600 miles. I'll keep that one on for another oil change, and then cut that one and see. Given that I'm seeing this car (the Camry) several times a year for vacations...
