Help with teaching a kid to drive.

I started both of my daughters on lonely parking lots (try a local community college or a high school on the weekend). Just get them doing lazy circles & figure eights. That was good enough practice, they can also practice parking if you think they are up for it, or if they want to. It sounds...

Buying things that will last you the rest of your life.

This isn't anything that would last me the rest of my life, but when I budgeted $800 for a laptop instead of $400-500, I became much happier with my purchases, and they lasted a lot longer and haven't required me to dig into the innards to re-apply thermal compound, blah blah blah. Lesson...

    Good 50wt oil ?

Walmart has Mobil1 15w50 full synthetic: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-Advanced-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Oil-15W-50-5-Quart/20713647?athbdg=L1600&from=/search Not sure if it is available in South America or not. It is not a motorcycle oil.

    Walmart EverStart Maxx - Warranty

Yeah its a hassle, that's why I mentioned it. I guess it depends on how much time you have, and how much money you have. And that is one reason why I switched to AAA (where I can be in my own home and have them swap out my battery while the car is in the driveway).

    Walmart EverStart Maxx - Warranty

Yes, you bring it to WM and have them test it. I did this, and I drove out with a new battery. If your wm is like mine, bring something to do to take up the hours--but they did honor the warranty, which is nice, w/o a hassle at all.

Ramps: Keep the Rhino and sell the classic?

Yeah, I bought the heavier ones too. Also, because they are either 1 inch wider or longer at the plateau where the tires rest. I couldn't imagine trying to drive it up with one inch less on either dimension.

Ramps: Keep the Rhino and sell the classic?

I called their tech support when I first bought my ramps. The guy who answered said that there would not be a problem keeping a vehicle on the ramps for several hours; but it should not be left on overnight. I gotta say that sagging would bother me.

Ramps: Keep the Rhino and sell the classic?

Are the steel ramps the same size? If both had a similar life expectancy, I would probably keep the steel, if there was more space on the top part of the ramp where the tires rest (the plateau). I love the Rhino ramps I have (I have the biggest size, the 16K combined weight load) but I dislike...

Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

Well they didn't reduce efficiency for the 102A, which is the one that fits my Highlander & Sienna. I just got an email reply from them.

Well its sure not hard to read that dipstick.

Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

I would agree with that. Well I'll see how long it takes them to give me the info I requested in the email.

Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

I am not going to argue for M-H here. But wouldn't they only make the filter to the specs given by Mobil? I'm not sure why Mobil would have across the board, lowered their efficiency requirements just because they changed suppliers for their filters.

Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

So do you think that M-H reduced the efficiency of their filters that much? Or that this was done just for this one filter model #? I just sent them an email asking for the info for the 102A, which is what fits my Highlander & Sienna.

Mobil, for one: https://web.archive.org/web/20120907021440/https://www.mobil.com/shared-files-lcw/mobil-1-ep-oil-filter-design_amer_en.pdf See page 2, although yes that is an older document. Test dates to 2007.

Spec sheets for Purolator One & Boss, Mobil 1, and Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that fit Honda/Acura, not sure how to interpret some specs

The other numbers I've come across in regards to the M1 are higher. Not quite as high as Fram with 99% @ 20 microns, but still a lot higher than 50%. I'm suspecting that that low an efficiency is just for this filter. Still, it is very very low...

    Aging Spare Tire

I agree with the above. I'm not sure I'd pay 300 for a spare, but yes I did replace spares in my vehicles 2 1/2 years ago. I realized that the spares in my cars that were 15+ years old, had never been changed. So I shelled out $50-80 per tire; I'll probably change them again in 10 years, if I...

    Fram tg10575 Ford Coyote

Great, thanks. I'm fine with the newer ecores (newer as in last several years) that had more columns & rows (?) in the design. So from this page, linked to in one of the threads you linked to (https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/attachments/oep-pdf.725003/) my Highlander & Sienna, which would...

At what point did Champ start making Motorcraft filters? I know puro/mann did for years. If I knew when Champ started making them, I'd know what c&ps to look for when trying to see if I want to run them. Also, I would be using the 910s if I were to go with motorcraft--do you know which ones are...

    Chevron Supreme Anyone

Never got much into blends. I moved my vehicles (the Camry after 270K, the other two in the 100K miles range) over to synthetic and with rebates, I never looked back.
