    Kubota HH150-32094 cut open - 55 hours

Kubota HH150-32094 filter from my 2014 Kubota B2620 tractor. Around 1.5 years and 55 hours on the filter, 275 hours on machine. Filter looked good, but even though this is the recommended part number it contacts the lower radiator hose. Replaced it with a Fram FE9688 which fits better. Oil...

Time for new front wheels, ZTR. Airless? Foam?

I don't have any favorites, generally just find ones that look decent and are the right size. I have an Exmark 48" Viking walk behind mower with a single wheel stand-on sulky. The sulky wheel is an Exmark solid tire, the front wheels are no-name from ebay. All have held up well.

Will Champion or NGK spark plug work better than generic Chinese?

I haven't had issues with Champions either. I typically replace plugs with what is spec'd for the engine originally, and most Briggs and Kohlers come with Champions. Hondas and Kawasakis will come with NGK, but some older Kawasakis came with Champions. The only area where I differ is...

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

Saws are addicting. I *only* have 4 saws, not including my pole saw and dewalt battery pruner saw thing. You can find really good used saws on Marketplace too. I picked up an Echo for my grandfather that had maybe only been run once or twice. Just something small that is easy to start for him...

    Informal gas pump survey

I fill up. Less stops/time spent at the gas station. I try to do it all in one shot with filling the vehicle and gas cans too haha.

Time for new front wheels, ZTR. Airless? Foam?

For the front, airless is the way to go.

What are you working on today?

    Check the crank position sensor.

Are John Deere branded lawn tractor batteries OK?

Nothing wrong with the Deere batteries, but I wouldn't pay more for them than a comparable one.

    Automotive detective game

Do it yourself, it isn't worth the time trying to fight with them. Do you really think they will do a better job this time around? I'd leave a bad review and lesson learned.

Glad it's working for you, hopefully it keeps going. (y)

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

Yes, the 2-stroke engines with the valves. If you have one of these I do recommend running the Stihl oil specific for the 4-mix engines. They are very expensive to fix, so if you have an issue with the engine (the camshaft is plastic) it's basically the same cost to fix as buying a new machine...

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

If you have been using it for "many years" it is likely a good older saw. The Farm Boss line is more "pro-sumer" anyway. The new (within the last 5 years) saws in the homeowner range are what I'd steer clear from, as well as anything with the 4-mix engines.

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

I'm strictly speaking about non-pro saws. It makes me chuckle a bit when people say I'm 100% wrong about Stihl, but then recommend someone buy a $1000+ saw. I'm talking about the homeowner going and buying a homeowner grade Stihl and that the quality and service they can expect is not worth...

    Echo gt 225 weedeater

This coupled with the weak spark sounds like an ignition coil issue to me. It should fire on starting fluid even if the carb is bad. How old is this machine? I know a lot of newer Echos have a lifetime warranty on the ignition coil.

    Echo gt 225 weedeater

+2 on the new NGK plug and pulling it with the throttle held open to un-flood it. If it has weak spark the ignition coil might be failing.

Will Champion or NGK spark plug work better than generic Chinese?

Whenever I do a re-power on something with a Harbor Freight Predator engine I ditch the factory Torch plug for an NGK as part of the re-power due to past issues.

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

The commercial companies near me usually switch equipment out every couple years or so, and yes they only buy the pro models. They also buy what equipment brands have dealers close by. We have Scag, Exmark, and Deere dealers close by, so that is usually what they use. Oddly enough, the...

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

I've seen some of the lower end homeowner saws and some of the blowers say made in China on them, but they were all newer pieces of equipment. The older Stihls are still decent, but I wouldn't buy any newer ones.

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

The build quality just isn't there, especially on the plastic homeowner models. When I used to fix a lot of them, I'd see really dumb issues like leaking fuel tanks, fuel lines, oil tanks dumping oil everywhere through the hose, all on brand new saws. When my customers went to get a warranty...

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

Those are good saws, unfortunately the new Stihls are a far cry from what they used to be. 😞
