    Brighter Headlight Bulbs ?

All of my experiences with Silverstars have been bad. They are brighter, sure, but the lifetime is drastically reduced and almost laughably short for how expensive they are. I had Philips +100% XtraVision in my BMW and they lasted for 6 years and were brighter without being as ridiculously...

what happened to the million mile claims?

Ford SuperDutys with the 6.7L PowerStroke that are purchased by the Federal Government are deleted from the factory. Rules for thee but not for me I guess. Shows just how problematic the systems are though.

    Homeless guy offered me money

I worked for a company that supported school district IT for various districts around the state during the pandemic. Some of the schools had programs that would provide laptops to families claiming to be unable to purchase a device for their kid. The parents would pick up the devices in the...

Deceptive car salesman loses a sale

That's the thing, for 900 bucks if it is a car you want and something that is hard to find, is it really worth walking?

Deceptive car salesman loses a sale

I get it that they play these games, but it is deceiving to start off the conversation saying the price is "X" out the door, then after negotiating saying it is somehow higher now. I don't play these games. I firmly tell them this is what I'm offering. If they decline I walk. You'd be...

How often to change oil on snow blower?

I change it annually in mine. Snowblower engines are not hard on oil, and don't accumulate many hours (homeowner machines), but they also don't usually get the oil temp hot enough to burn off condensation. Often when I drain the oil from them there is a significant amount of moisture.

    Midsize truck shopping

They aren't body on frame but they do fill a spot in the market. They can tow 5000 lbs, you can haul stuff in the bed, and they drive more like a Honda Pilot than a truck. One of my friends is on his 3rd Ridgeline after owning Chevy trucks before and loves them. He doesn't do any heavy towing...

    Midsize truck shopping

Yeah I don't get this mentality at all. I recently bought a V8 Grand Cherokee, perfectly comfortable for commuting my 16 mile a day commute, and can tow my Kubota easily. A bunch of my friends kept suggesting I buy at least a half ton or a 3/4 ton. I don't tow cross-country, max would be like...

2016 BMW 535d in the shop; may sell it

That's a tough call. Modern diesel vehicles are even more complex and expensive than a gasoline one. I recently sold my BMW because I needed something to tow, but being able to DIY was key to successful ownership with my E90. The headlight problems suck, but honestly that is more of a modern...

Is there a “best” inline fuel filter?

In my experience with them for outdoor power equipment, the construction is more important than the filter media. There are quite a few brands that manufacture filters like the one in the OP, and a lot of the Amazon "no-name" ones might last a year before they crack and dump fuel everywhere...

    Safety Squints

I wear a full face shield and goggles now, just not worth risking it. I had safety glasses on (loose ones) while grinding once, and got a small metal fragment in my eye that went under the safety glasses. I ended up having to go to the eye doctor to have it drilled out. Not a fun experience.

    RAM truck loaner vehicle

That will never happen. Most of the consumers want the extra features and the manufacturers enjoy selling the higher profit margin vehicles. A lot of the dealers around me don't even have base model trucks on the lot, you need to special order it, and unless you are buying a fleet of them they...

Owner denied warranty for being outside OCI by 600 miles and short tripping.

True, but the problem is if they want to deny you, they will find a way. I've dealt with this in the past with family member vehicles even being dealership serviced to the T. What it comes down to is they have better lawyers than you, so they bank on most people just not wanting the headache...

Owner denied warranty for being outside OCI by 600 miles and short tripping.

Hot spots due to oil not reaching temperature is also a wild conclusion. I would then question if Mazda is not recommending the proper oil for their vehicles.

Owner denied warranty for being outside OCI by 600 miles and short tripping.

Honestly this isn't surprising to me at all having worked in the insurance industry. The data collection is never meant for benefitting the customer.
