    Co-op DMO 10w30 24k km; 2017 Cummins 6.7

I contemplated sending a VOA but ended up using up my stock. I have some for the farm, albeit a year newer but I just may send in a sample. I have an extra sample kit...... I have thought about 40 weights and might do a run just to see. Currently in my truck is a clean out of the oil shelf...

    Co-op DMO 10w30 24k km; 2017 Cummins 6.7

172,000km on truck, 24,000km on oil. Truck deleted since 100,000km. This run was, as the title says, Co-op DMO semi synthetic 10w30 CK4. I don't have much of a breakdown, but plenty of towing and the usual frigid cold starts. In fact the last 300+ km were running in -30c with plenty of cold...

    Made in Canada?

Great question, but I actually don't know. The thing is, guys that run farm fuel, usually have their trucks plated "F" or farm plates. As far as I can recall, they are exempted and can run it. We opted not to have farm plates on our vehicles (even on the equestrian side, our acreage qualified...

    Made in Canada?

My favorite is Federated Co-op. Made in Regina, Saskatchewan at their refinery. Their petrochemicals are easily found in pretty much every corner of this Province, small town or city.

What are you working on today?

@clinebarger its not so bad when the temperature is consistent. The wild swings are what caused the problems. The wind picks up and absolutely kicks a guy in the face. When it's -40 there is usually no wind and the sun comes out. It's really not bad. A few days ago, I was out snowmobiling...

What are you working on today?

Nothing crazy. Had the wild temperature swing come though. -47c windchills the other day and now it's melting. So fired up the old 3500 and i to town to try and rinse off all the salt. She's good to sit stagnant for another few weeks.....

    extreme cold

We are just at the tail end of the cold. Had about two weeks of nothing warmer than -20c ambient at the warmest. Last few days were well into the -30s with upwards of -50 windchills. My poor old mule of a Trailblazer has been daily driving in all this cold. She sure uses the fuel though. If...

What are you doing right now?

Ripped to town for some odds and ends. Picked up the fuel and oil filters for the JD 325 skid steer 500 hour service. Mailed in the used oil sample for my Ram 3500 6.7. Then put on plenty of cold miles on the sleds. My 14 year old daughter and her friend went for a burn as well. Not far in...

What are you doing right now?

Sitting inside, with my oversized Chihuahua, Dumb Georgie as I drink coffee. It's -38c outside but sunny and not a lot of wind. Already had one of the sleds running (they start better than some fuel injected cars) and contemplating going for a ride soon.

Went for another sled ride today. Lots of fun as usual but the windchill was beginning to suck.

Engine oil for VW 3.0L V6 TDI?

@OVERKILL i completely overlooked those products from Petro! @lakestone it looks like he is in Canada. Things are a bit different on the emissions scene. While I cannot comment on the commercial vehicle side, here in Saskatchewan, there is no emissions testing on light vehicles. While...

What are you doing right now?

I remember those old days @Zee09 lol, the late 90s, early 2000s. We would network, meet up with friends, talk, introduce new friends and just flat out meet people. That's how I met my now wife. If I had to meet someone online, I'd die single. I can't even bank online. On another note, it's...

What are you eating right now?

Turned out pretty good! I rotated the racks part way through. A couple end pieces were over done but I expected that.

What are you eating right now?

My first go around but trying ground beef jerky. This isn't my own concoction but using store bought seasoning packages. Like an idiot, I thawed 4 pounds not 5 so I had use a partial pack. The jerky gun works great and things went well. Will be checking in another hour or so. I did not use...

    Polaris voltage regulator bullet connectors

I ran into this problem as well. The VR on my 2000 Polaris Magnum had some issues. Well rather the connectors did. I didn't realize they came in those increments so I had to crimp down the female end to mate up with new ends.

Engine oil for VW 3.0L V6 TDI?

I wonder if PetroCan's Duron line would work? They make great oils and are Canadian. Seeing as I am on the Prairies, I run Co-op oils. Sure my 6.7 Cummins is a bit of a different engine, it's still a diesel engine. Co-op is Canadian oil refined in Regina. Their synthetics are essentially...

post your latest differential fluid change

2004 Ford Escape, 227,000km. Unsure what came out. The levels appeared fine and nothing was filthy black. Rear diff got 75w90 group 4 synthetic. The PTU received the same brand, group 4 80w140.

What are you working on today?

Spent the better half of today in the heated shop. It's frigid cold, so I spent time on my daughters 2004 Escape. Yesterday it received a new Windshield. Today was fresh 75w90 gear oil in the rear diff. Noticed one of the axle seals has a slight leak, will monitor and maybe change it out...
