    High Mileage Oils Oxidation Number

Still no reply from Lake Speed Jr AFAIK. It's possible that he replied, but I didn't receive a notification. I'll go have a look later.

Never Change Oil - Delvac Challenge

To anyone... Correct me if you think I'm wrong, but I'm of the opinion that if the oil still looks relatively clean, it's still good. If oil is black it may, or may not, still be good. So if black, only a proper lab test will tell.

    High Mileage Oils Oxidation Number

You mention ester. I think LSJ mentioned ester when he was talking about higher starting oxidation number.

    Castrol vs Valvoline

I apologized to you in a PM and deleted it.

    Castrol vs Valvoline

That ^ post contains political content. Some of which is incorrect. I'm not allowed to comment about it nor reply to it because commenting on a political statement is political a mod said. However, why then is the original political post still remaining? It was after that post that this thread...

    Castrol vs Valvoline

Quick? This thread was hijacked at least a dozen posts ago by the first post about this sideshow. In the the first post about it said the Saudi Royal Family owns Valvoline, supports terrorism, and funded 9/11. BITOG (supposedly) has a rule against making politics posts and replying to political...

    Castrol vs Valvoline

None of this is relevant to the OP topic. He asked about the technical merits of the oil. Also, the post that began this offtopic stuff was IMO clearly a political post in violation of the BITOG no politics rule. I don't know why this sideshow has been allowed to become the main show in dozens...

    High Mileage Oils Oxidation Number

I did post my questions in the comments section of his Youtube video about HM oils. I hope to get an answer from him. I am also curious to know the opinions of BITOG members.

Pentius PLXL 7317 Initial Impressions vs Microgard Select

I was thinking same or similar. Maybe the center tubes and face plates are all mass produced in one factory that does only that. Then perhaps Pentius, Premium Guard, Highline Warren buy those components to be used in their filters they make in their own factories. Or maybe they're all using the...

Pentius PLXL 7317 Initial Impressions vs Microgard Select

The oil in/on the filter looks relatively clean, IMO.

    High Mileage Oils Oxidation Number

I watched a Lake Speed video about High Mileage oils. He said HM oils show a higher starting oxidation number in VOAs, which he said is how we know they have extra seal conditioner in them. Does it mean HM oils oxidize faster? Does it mean HM oils cannot last as many miles or as much time?

    Castrol vs Valvoline

And the Valvoline oil is still made in USA by Americans. However, I think the OP just wanted to know the technical merits of the oils he asked about.

Pentius PLXL 7317 Initial Impressions vs Microgard Select

Does that mean Pentius is slightly better than PG Vietnam? Everything I've ever bought that was made in South Korea has been excellent. In fact, the best I've ever owned: Samsung TV & phone, 2 sets of LG washer and dryer for 2 homes, Hankook all season tires for my Buick, rear diff gears for...

Pentius PLXL 7317 Initial Impressions vs Microgard Select

I knew that, which was why I was surprised they look same or similar. I can't see any differences. What differences are people seeing?

Pentius PLXL 7317 Initial Impressions vs Microgard Select

I noticed that Pentius look like Microgard Select (which is made by Premium Guard), unless I'm missing something.

Well now you learned something, unless you're just being sarcastic. Google it if you don't believe me.

I think 15w-40 in my jeep was a mistake

I never said it wasn't safe at 90F during the day. In fact I said it is. Stop putting words in my mouth and read more carefully. You're really getting on my nerves now. Are you aware that many desert climates that are hot in daytime get cold at night? Sometimes even down to freezing or colder...
