Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

I definitely will man! After I've run VRP through at least two more changes (4 total). That will be almost 20k miles with the stuff. If it's not clear by now, I'll say this (for everyone), I'm not meticulously and scientifically studying whether or not VRP does what it claims, let alone...

This fixed my rough idle (will it fix my oil consumption?)

Quick update: Photos attached are from Sunday (the 29th). As you can see, on Trip A (That's my makeshift oil consumption monitor, shows me how many driven miles between adding a quart) I was over 700 miles when I checked the oil to find that I was at "L", so about a quart low. Is that an...

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

From more reading I suppose if I did try HPL and my car used oil there's a strong possibility it's not the rings but could be scoring on the cylinder walls or the PCV system just sucks (pun intended)

    Quaker State Full Syn 5w30

I should find my Blackstone oil analysis kit, I had one laying around. I was going to send off my first try of the Valvoline Restore and Protect when I had the Sonata but I would be interested to see how it comes back from my Sportage.

Which is the best Noack oil? I have these choices:

Skimming through it, it's similar to the guy who claims he fixed his consumption issue by ripping off the baffles under his valve cover... That's more invasive and radical than I'm willing to do but it was an interesting read... Thank you for finding and sharing that.

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

Did you stick with HPL after that first one? Was there oil consumption before, during or after use?

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

Sorry I should have clarified, I haven't owned either car since New. I got the '17 Sonata in 2019 with 25k miles on it and it started consuming oil around 60k miles I don't remember exactly. That was totaled in an accident in March. Enter the '19 Kia Sportage, it had 98k miles and has been...

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

I'm counting on the number of cases who have been successful to justify trying it, whether it works or not. As you said, it may not be stuck rings but good ol' wear and tear.

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

You're right, but a qt every 500 miles? That's a quart a week for me on my commute to work alone.

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

That's my plan, just taking longer to get there than I had hoped. I knew it would take a few OCIs with the Valvoline Restore and Protect (some thousands of miles of driving, so a while) but at the rate my oil consumption is improving, I could just as easily try something else. I am also...

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

Just wondering if oil consumption in my vehicle could be resolved or at least reduced by switching to HPL. I tried Amsoil SS in my 2017 Hyundai Sonata with 80,000 or so miles at the time, and though it performed a lot better than the Quaker State full synthetic I was using, it was still...

    Slowly improving oil consumption

When you said you stopped using cleaners you mentioned a few, but B12 and HPL EC go in different places, so my question to you is, why do you think that helped? And what prompted you to start/stop in the first place? As someone who uses cleaners in the fuel system I can hazard a guess, but I...

    Quaker State Full Syn 5w30

What engine is in the Subaru? How many miles? I suspect many Hyundai/Kia owners with the dreaded 2.4L Theta II would just about have a stroke at the thought of running oil out to 9000 miles. I know because I am one. Makes me think I should get a UOA for the Valvoline Restore and Protect I'm...

Will HPL PCMO help my oil consumption?

Does anyone running HPL PCMO experience oil consumption at all? I'm asking for any weight/grade oil, any vehicle, driving conditions, mileage etc. Also, what about Royal Purple or Amsoil guys? HPL

Which is the best Noack oil? I have these choices:

Wait... So my Kia Sportage (2.4L GDI with 111k miles) consuming a quart of oil in 500 miles isn't "burning" the oil due to stuck rings but just evaporating, due to extreme heat? Because I never smell burnt oil and there's no smoke out the tail pipe. I just need to ask because I've been using...

Conflicting Information from randoms on the Internet

Thank you all for the replies. I wasn't getting notified for some reason. I will try FRAM for the whole OCI. I've not had problems with OEM and I can see many others here don't either. I'm not worried I will have problems but I suppose you could call it peace of mind if using something better...

Did a piston soak on the 18 Kia 2.4L this weekend

Thank you for clearing that up. I definitely did not know that. Which I think proves my point that people are fallible at best and complete morons at worst. I don't know why someone who has a step by step video (clearly refers to removing the serpentine belt because the alternator and AC might...

Did a piston soak on the 18 Kia 2.4L this weekend

Ok people keep saying "turn in the same direction" well which is it? Clockwise or counter clockwise? Is that facing the front of the engine block or looking out? You know, as opposed to the front of/looking out of the hood.

Post a photo of your oil on dipstick (with miles)

Is that some life hack or is the owners manual wrong? I'm not trying to be smart, I'm literally asking. Because it's frustrating doing things 100% according to instructions (because what else should I listen to really?) and getting inconsistent results at best.

Did a piston soak on the 18 Kia 2.4L this weekend

Ok. I guess I got freaked out when I saw numerous (like dozens) of comments on one YouTube video I saw of how to "bar your engine" (turn over manually). The video was actually pretty good and nearly idiot proof, but between them asking about it and some alleging to have messed up their timing, I...
