Is this a phone line or electric?

So, listen to this: Up in the Champlain Valley...where they do grow apples...a tree fell on such a communications line. I called the phone company, and they were surprisingly blase' about it. I told them the numbers of the poles between which their multicable was being stressed. They said they...

    Feedback/Vibration in Steering Wheel

For >7 years I cared for the same car; a neighbor's 4-cyl., in sliver. The time came to sell it. A friend bought it for her trade school bound grandson. It had uninterrupted dealership, "Quick Lube" and my maintenance. I tabulated it all. There was included a Fumoto oil drain valve...

    Feedback/Vibration in Steering Wheel

Have you inspected or ever replaced the....shocks/struts, tie rod ends, ball joints, control arms (their bushings), or any other bushings? A knowledgeable inspection is in order. With a helper and an open hood, put the car in R, then put it in D with someone looking at how the engine rocks...

Nissan Frontier, 3.8L new engine; what oil?

If you've mentioned this situation before, I missed it. At what mileage did the engine fail? Best of luck with the replacement. Was this a warrantied job? <<<seeking happiness here. a. Maybe eschew the bargain oil change places? Perhaps the "cheap filter media tore free, wadded up and...

I was on a checkout line at the Sears store when they opened for the final clearance sale post lockdown. edit: Thanks, Sears, for all the $5 coupons you sent me and for the friendly lady at the damaged tool exchange. A customer I was chatting with mentioned her new Audi. I forget the...

Should I replace my water pump?

The OE water pumps in the narrow range of Volvos I've touched are said to last 250,000 mi. And of course, there's every caveat against aftermarket pumps. What's the word on the RAM/Cummins fora?

Oil for slightly neglected ford explorer 4L sohc

What year and how many miles? I ask because I have the same engine and 'feel' for them. If your BIL has a 2004 or earlier vintage, he has the inferior chain guides. Three to five seconds of "Clear Flooded Engine" cranking -at least for the first startup of the day- can't hurt and might help.

    Pacific Palisades Fire Rebuild

They're 'so similar' and I like 'em both. I'd like to see what's behind the panels...to get an idea of traffic flow. Also works with post #11's considerations. ...which way the Sun travels (see post #5),...does moss and mildew form under the soffits? etc. Window orientation...

2015 Volvo XC70. ~15k on filter. I've long been settled on 30k for both engine air and cabin air filters WHERE I LIVE. I wanted to do this one as the previous owner wasn't local. OUT: Hengst Twas dull grey overall, heavily sprinkled with unfamiliar, 1.5mm, round, ivory/yellow-colored seeds +...

    Ford F-150 5.4

Just for giggles: How many miles on your '07? I always ask. Also, which type of spark coil / wire combo do you have? I ask because a friend had the two 4-socket coils (one on each valve cover) with a wire to each plug in a '97. Fine. EVERYTHING we read said it would have a coil atop each...
