By far most of the Microgard Select are coming out of the Vietnam factory HOWEVER there are some of the Select's that come out of China as well:

Premium Guard does not have factories themselves.. They contract with a handful mostly between Vietnam and China with more than one in China so these different factories obviously have slightly different design components although they are the same basic design and not flipping things around...

If they would get that leaf spring resolved then I would switch over to the Tough Guard permanently as it is so convenient to pick up anytime and is is right around $7 for my model which is just a great deal compared to the other extended filters with good media and silicone adbv but just not...

The FB Champ design (metal end caps and ecore) they are moving over to the Fram products is almost a great filter IMO but they just need to finish it off by fixing or switching out that leaf spring from what others are saying on this forum. All those Champs and Supertechs usually look pretty...

man that is a pristine one.. that China production is usually slightly messy and maybe this filter is from one of the other non-AFI China factories PG uses or vice versa. Pleats are also tighter than usual PG.

absolutely yes IMO.

. Similar to a PG but a little bit tighter pleats and almost always no excess glue which PG factories seem to be slowly getting just a little more sloppy with... The best filter right now IMO.

Yes.. Napa had become lacking to some degree.. They fixed that with production moving to Premium Guard so now you are safe with those.

I don't know. .. I just know that most of some of their engine air filters are pre-oiled.

CQP usually has a silicone gasket which is a nice feature and gesture on their part IMO. Mobil 1 comes with standard rubber.

yes of course that is inevitable with any company but it is the frequency that matters.. @BrendanC has cut open so many filters in his years that he is a good example of an authority on something like FREQUENCY of defect and afaik the PG stuff kicks most others to the curb without breaking a...
