Question about condensation or gunk on oil cap

The reason is that your oil cap screws in very close to where all the action is happening, maybe a half inch above a spinning camshaft. There is a baffle right there but the fact of the matter is, its very close to the spinny things of the engine, probably receives a lot of air flow and...

    Question about headlight upgrade

I realize that, but proper placement of the chip makes a huge difference which was the purpose of the first picture I showed. This screenshot was from a video they did for a 2019 trailboss with reflector housings which are the same housings my 2021 has. The beam pattern and cutoff between the...

    Question about headlight upgrade

Blah Blah Blah.... I guess I missed the memo that made you the "AUTHORITY" on headlight upgrades. I shared not because of marketing but because of real world results. I just used pictures from HR because they were perfectly aligned with my real world results. Check your ego dude.

    Question about headlight upgrade

When replacing Halogens's with anything else its about putting the filament/chip in the exact same location as the factory bulb in order to preserve the focus of the reflector or projector. Cheap amazon LED's will not get you there, you're going to have to spend some money. Check out some...

Is there a need for all wheel steering?

You are not mistaken, displacement is entirely a function of bore and stroke, if you're not manipulating either of those, displacement isn't changing, sorry, end of story...

Is there a need for all wheel steering?

Doing anything with the heads does not change displacement, only compression ratio. This could still have certain advantages, but not due to a change in displacement.

Which is the better air compressor, two stage 30 gallon or single stage 60 gallon.

Another note. What Gon has now is a direct drive compressor which are notoriously super noisy, avoid those and get something that is belt driven. Less noise and a less annoying tone.

Which is the better air compressor, two stage 30 gallon or single stage 60 gallon.

Yes, this is the main point. The Husky's SCFM rating is about the limit you can achieve from a 120 volt 15/20 amp circuit These two units have different purposes. The question is how much SCFM does GON need and does he have easy access to 240 where he intends to put the compressor?

Hot Rodders - The death of the flat tappet cam.

Lets not fool ourselves. Roller lifters can handle a much more aggressive lobe profile. A roller cam/lifter combo will lift the valve quicker, keep it open longer, all with less friction. The key to making power is getting as much air in as possible in the precious few milli seconds the...

Are cops easier on people who make a living driving?

I do believe some officers will give professional drivers a break under certain circumstances. I have a CDL and have been pulled over several times in my Z28 doing things that would get most people a ticket. Exhibition, speeding etc. Nothing was outrageous, wag the tail a little, 10 mph over...

    1967- 327 Chevy bolting to 91 trans???

Or you could find yourself an l99 4.3 liter crankshaft with the correct size journals ;);) Or these days summit can hook you up with pretty much anything you can think of brand new.

    1967- 327 Chevy bolting to 91 trans???

X10 Agree with this. Some people possess a real nostalgia for the old 327's for no real "modern" reason. You will overpay for a 327, it's probably been rebuilt a couple times already, bores already .060 over, crank/rod journals .020 - .030 under already. If the heads are from the era they...

    Cold seizure?

This is certainly cooler than the expected usage for a scooter, therefore, it was certainly running lean unless it has been rejetted? Did you check the color of the plug? It doesn't matter how much oil you have in the gas of a 2-stroke, lean is lean and will lead to trouble.

Where to find a 10 psi radiator cap?

Why though? Trying to prolong the life of a weak radiator or heater core? Part of the reason for pressurized cooling systems is not only for the higher overall boiling point of the coolant but more importantly is to help prevent localized hot spots from boiling and creating voids in the...

Got new pads.. GG in rear FF in front?

The point was installing non compatible brake pads MAY be a problem. If you have pads the bite well when cold and combine them with pads that dont bite til hot like your race pads that's a problem isn't it?

Honda Element coolant recovery tank has never worked

D17A1/2's were rather infamous for blowing their head gasket and causing the exact problem you described. To the OP does the radiator cap hold pressure while it's hot? are the upper and lower radiator hoses firm?

Got new pads.. GG in rear FF in front?

From my experience if you're going to upgrade friction ratings you should make the same changes to both the front and rear brakes. If stock was FF front and rear I wouldn't put GG's in the rear and leave FF's up front, this will no doubt goof up the bias front and rear and may create issues...

    Driveline vibrations.

U-Joints most likely. It's not lifted or lowered or anything anything is it? That can change angles enough to induce vibration. It's also surprising how much sagging engine mounts and transmissions mounts can change the angle of the tailshaft, so I would certainly look at all that stuff.
