Spectro platinum 4 - PDS attached

I’ve had a few bottles of 10w50 Spectro Platinum 4 10w50 in the stash from a sale at a local MC shop. I haven’t ran it in my 790 yet as I’ve been using Amsoil 15w50. I emailed Spectro for specs which I’ll attach. In the process I found out Motorex bought out spectro last year. Take a look at...

I can definitely understand that. Nothing more important than family and time spent with them.

Last time I did it on an XSR900 naked! This felt like a Cadillac in comparison!

I’m very fortunate to have a wife who took our kids with her to Texas to visit her childhood friends. Certainly missed the her and the kids! I don’t think I could be gone much longer until they are grown.

I was surprised my butt isn’t even sore! Added a Ventilated seat cover on the 790 and it’s awesome for comfort!

No we didn’t. Availability was great everywhere. Early to mid September is less busy as school is in session so there are less tourists than July and August

Definitely worth $50-75 a night each for a shower and a bed!

    12 days - 5,836 miles - KTM790 ADV

The windscreens do a fair job actually. We covered a lot of miles, but rode basically from sunrise to dark most days and the west is wide open with 70-75mph speed limits so it wasn’t bad. We brought camping gear but ended up in Hotels every night as it was in the 40s most nights and hotels are...

    12 days - 5,836 miles - KTM790 ADV

12 days - 5,836 miles. Kentucky to the California Coast and back. We rode the million dollar highway, loneliest road in America, monument valley, RT66 from near flagstaff to Oatman, the Sante Fe trail, and a short section of a sadly foggy California 1. Almost 10k miles on my 2024 790 ADV in 4...

    4K mile Review 2024 KTM 790 ADV

I will be navigating via Rand McNally! I like it old school. We are just riding and enjoying the journey. A couple weeks of no where to be other than on the bike and sightseeing! Will be hitting the million dollar highway, monument Valley, and the loneliest road in America.

    4K mile Review 2024 KTM 790 ADV

Very nice! I almost bought a Leftover 23 890R instead. It was another $1700.00 or so which was probably worth it. I however do no off road riding at all. I do 100% street riding and road trips. I felt the 890R was a little stiff for long days on state highways. Im also only 5’9” 30” inseam so...

    4K mile Review 2024 KTM 790 ADV

I made the mistake of not checking the chain tension after installing the luggage racks and loading up for the last trip. I rode the entire time on a completely tight chain due to increased sag. I checked it after I returned and it had literally no play 🤦🏼‍♂️. Likely I wore the seal slightly by...

    4K mile Review 2024 KTM 790 ADV

Thank you! We rode 421 from indiana down to North Carolina, did the snake, blue ridge parkway to Cherokee, TN and hit the tail of the dragon on the way back home. This is the second trip to the dragon on this bike and the factory STRs grip awesome, but they are getting worn! I’m really...

    4K mile Review 2024 KTM 790 ADV

I’ve put 4K miles on my 2024 KTM 790 ADV in the last 3 months. So far it’s been pretty reliable! We will get to that in a minute. Handling: The bike handles awesome! My previous bike was an XSR900 and this bike even with 50/50 tires and a 21” front wheel handles and corners better. The...
