Funeral escort services looking like police officers/uniforms

I get the tradition of an unbroken chain of vehicles. Probably goes all the way back to horses and carriages. There are some interesting traditions. In San Francisco there's the Green Street Mortuary Band. That's popular among Chinese-Americans, where having a western style band in a funeral...

Funeral escort services looking like police officers/uniforms

No need to. He apparently recorded pretty much everything that got him in trouble and posted it. He was proud of how he confronted people he thought were giving his funeral processions respect. Concurrent sentencing helped reduce his time incarcerated. A lot of the stuff that’s public now...

Funeral escort services looking like police officers/uniforms

He did. Here's his record with the Florida Dept of Corrections. He had six convictions served concurrently with two other offenses also served concurrently. This doesn't include his current convictions where he's currently in county jail but will apparently be transferred to state (and then...

Funeral escort services looking like police officers/uniforms

Around here they're usually dressed like construction workers wearing hardhats. It often seems like they're often just part of the road construction crew taking turns doing flagging. I do remember this one crew on the way to work that was there for weeks, and it was the same woman every day...

Funeral escort services looking like police officers/uniforms

Just been following the saga of a guy who ran a funeral escort business in Florida. But the guy was a piece of work, where he's been convicted of impersonating a law enforcement officer on several occasions and has served time in prison. But he's clearly a wannabe cop, where he's even gotten...

Siracha shortages again, oh no! :)

Totally random, but I had this stain from Huy Fong sriracha on cotton fabric. Saw a big dried crusty spot and two tiny spots on a white area of otherwise printed fabric. I didn't notice it earlier but I'm guessing the tip was clogged and it sprayed some around in weird directions, including a...

Air India Flight AI171 (Boeing 787-8) Crash

Digital electronics can have extremely rare failure conditions that may be impossible to replicate through trial and error.

So, what did Werner Herzog's shoe taste like?

And Errol Morris went on to direct some of the best known documentaries, including The Thin Blue Line and A Brief History of Time.

So, what did Werner Herzog's shoe taste like?

For the joke to work, shouldn't that be "sole food"?

So, what did Werner Herzog's shoe taste like?

I'm trying to stay ahead of this because I tried this before (including linking the actual documentary, which apparently is now deleted by whoever uploaded it to YouTube). But there was a little bit of salty language in the documentary. So I get it - don't post stuff that might have...

Dining late evening/early morning at 24 hour restaurants?

I do remember the Denny's in Emeryville, California. It's been there for ages (since at least the 1970s) and I'd occasionally go there on the way to work. But it was a notorious late night hangout (especially among UC Berkeley students with cars), and there were hints that a lot of drug...

Dining late evening/early morning at 24 hour restaurants?

Depends on where. I heard around the time of COVID there were staffing issues where many decided to reduce their hours. I'm looking at the ones closest to me. I tried finding as many locations as I could find in the Bay Area, and they're all open 24 hours. The closest I could find that...

Dining late evening/early morning at 24 hour restaurants?

I've been in Nevada casinos late night, but I think that's a completely different category. Some of the late night food specials could be really good.

Dining late evening/early morning at 24 hour restaurants?

Oh yeah. I remember being in a 24 hour Safeway once (don't ask) but I do remember the announcement that alcohol sales were going to end at 2 AM. As far as I know, a bar isn't required to close at 2 AM (supposed to be by 3 AM) though, but no more orders or serving.

Dining late evening/early morning at 24 hour restaurants?

Just wondering what people's experiences are? Of course most of the big American diner chains (Denny's, IHOP, Waffle House) tend to be mostly 24 hours, including open most holidays. I don't know of too many fast food places that are open that late other than the drive-thru. But I've been...

Does Walmart really need five versions of OTC omeprazole?

Sure. I remember getting a generic prescription medication where the retail price that I was charged was less than the $5 copay. I’ve talked to pharmacists about getting my preferred allergy meds, and was told they had or could order various dosages if I had a prescription. Several were the...

Zero. But most conspiracy theories aren’t grounded in reality or practicality.

Air India Flight AI171 (Boeing 787-8) Crash

I’m guessing one conspiracy theory is that since GE is looking at the possibility of engine (or engine control) issues, they might have an incentive to send in people from their flight recorder division to fake the data.
