Number 1 for sure. Number 3 next. Wait and see on number 4 hot water heater, it may be ok. If HVAC number 2 is working just wait until repairs are really needed.

Using VR-1 20W50 in my 1968 Pontiac. Castrol Classic GTX High Zinc is another good oil for our flat tappet engines.

Is the air filter and/or intake clogged? That will cause the engine to “breathe” through the crankcase. If there’s sludge stopping up drain back holes, the oil could be puddling around the valves, drawing oil in the combustion chamber. Wondering also if the piston soak actually caused the oil...

If this engine has the original timing chain and gears you would be best to not go beyond a 10W40 in my opinion. Camshaft sprocket has nylon teeth. They will shear off (old set) when the oil pump has to churn thick oil.

If the car runs well now, best get the old gas out and run fresh. Additives in the fuel will “clean up” everything and that cause more issues than you may think you have now. Not sure but those look like Stomberg carbs. There are kits produced with materials that withstand ethanol fuel.
