    Easy peel hard boiled eggs

I am on a low carb diet and eat a lot of hard boiled eggs. I used to hate making hard boiled eggs because they would never peel without bits of egg clinging to the shell. I stumbled on this method by experimenting and it works EVERY TIME. The eggs peel quickly with no waste. FYI . Hope this is...

    2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road.

Congrats on the awesome truck. I have driven Toyotas since 1984 and had good luck with them. I have one concern, Road Salt. If you live in a road salt area have the underside sprayed with Fluid Film or something similar each fall. I bought the Kellesport spray gun for Fluid Film and it works...

How Good is Stucco as Exterior Cladding on House?

I live in Maryland. Some houses in this area were covered with Styrofoam sheets and the stucco applied over that. This stuff is beyond horrible, easily damaged and subject to water infiltration. I have seen woodpeckers peck through the thin layer of stucco and expose the Styrofoam! Imagine...

    Dodge Caravan Power Steering Hose

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO POSTED. I got a pick set at Harbor Freight and was able to work the hose off. Trav, I did not get to use the WD 40 as the connection was leaking a lot of PS fluid which helped lubricate things. Anyway, I am back on the road and the power steering whine has gone from "...

    Dodge Caravan Power Steering Hose

I am trying to change the power steering reservoir on a 2003 Dodge Caravan. The large diameter ( about 1/2 inch ID ) return line is "welded" to the original plastic reservoir after 15 years of underhood temperatures. A replacement power steering hose is 107 dollars so I am trying to reuse the...

Got screwed over for a promotion and Im depressed

I feel for you Buddy. I worked in Fraud Prevention for a credit card bank many years ago. I was busting my " Burro " for the company and after 3 years wanted a promotion. Trouble was, promotions were based entirely on who you knew and your ability to play political games. I despise " schmoozing...

    1/4 copper compression fitting leak

I have had good luck putting a drop of oil on the threads of brass compression fittings. The oil lets the "sticky" brass threads tighten up better. keep the oil out of the water line proper.

    Preventing Rust in Fender Wells

Fluid film works great and creeps long dstances. The tailgate on my old Toyota was rusting thru at the lowet corner. I removed the inner panel and gave the rusty area a shot with Fluid Film from an aerosol can. Problem solved for about 4 years now. The great thing about Fluid Film is no...

Average wedding in America $ 25,000

My wedding cost 60 dollars for the license. We went out for lunch at Bob Evans and my new inlaws got the check. We used the money saved for a down payment on the home we have lived in for 17 years. You NEED food, water, and shelter forever, not a one day extravaganza.

Fram Tough Guard TG2 3k Miles

I have read that the Toughgard uses a different filter media than an extra guard. Are the end caps a heavier material?

    Guys, do your own Laundry?

I do my own laundry. Work clothes for me are jeans and tee shirts, so it is easy. My wife has arthritis and stairs are a problem, so, I try to minimize her stair climbing.

One oil for all cars and driving conditions

Thanks for posting about the PCV Oldmoparguy. The PCV in my Caravan made a muffled noise when shaken, like it was gummed or varnished up. A new PCV cut the oil consumption to nothing. I bought this Caravan from an estate about 5 years ago so maintenance is unknown. I was running Mobil 1 and...

Adventures with a 2 stroke Mantis

I was given a Mantis that sat for years with E10 gas in it. The carb passages are so tiny as to be "unclearable" so I am buying a new carb. Thanks for the tip about sanding the magnets. Will try that if the spark is weak.

    Trailer light cable vibrating loose

You nailed it Skyactiv! The socket and cable have the tabs, but, the cover spring has lost tension or broken. Until I can replace the socket a bungee cord wrapped round cover and plug will keep it in place. Thanks to everyone who replied

    Trailer light cable vibrating loose

I tow a small pop up camper with my Dodge Caravan. The pop up has electric brakes, stop lights and turn signals powered by a standard 7 pin trailer plug mounted on the rear bumper. Lately, the trailer cable plug is vibrating part way out of the socket, killing the brakes and lights. Losing the...

Ten pounds Meth suspect released Own Recognizance

Cecil County Maryland is the DUI capital of the world ( Or so it seems ) Our county commisioner was stopped for weaving across the center line, admitted he was drinking, and refused the breath test. He was given probation before judgement and is still driving. He had to install a breathalyzer on...

    Depression

I take 3 or 4 fish oil capsules from Walmart every day. These work as well for me as antidressants. Your mileage may vary, but, it is cheap to try and safe. No side effects except a fishy taste sometimes.

    repair or replace time?

An old and experienced purchasing agent I worked with had several rules. The primary one was " Get 3 or 4 quotes " You can get this fixed for less than $2500. As far as fixing vs new, I had the exact same situation with my wife's Mazda 626. The car was paid for and she loved it. We rebuilt the...
