Head gasket material? (AFM vs multi layer steel)

If memory serves me right, and that's dangerous, metal head gaskets are reserved for high performance engines with high compression ratios.

    Increased Boost vs Viscosity?

You are on the right track. Forget grade and look for HTHS >3.5. Your 15w-40 probably covers that.

Rapidly onboard JP-5 to USS Abraham Lincoln

Right. When I was in the Desert, our jets were fully loaded with munitions and fuel. On take off when reaching the end of the runway they would do a "military" take off. That's pulling the jet into a vertical climb with full "augmenters" (AF doesn't call them afterburners). They immediately hit...

Keeping external drive plugged in to desktop 24/7

My computers are on 24/7. My system mirrors yours. Internal SSD drive holds OS and programs. 2Tb external HD drive holds all my work. Second 1TB external HD drive holds backups for everything. Been doing this for years without problems (so far).

Our F16's burned about 1200 gallons, yes the AF uses gallons, in less that two hours in combat style flying.

Viscosity: Engine protection Vs. enhanced mileage

If I bought a new vehicle, unlikely, I would use the oil that I thought best regardless of the manual, parts counter guy or service manager and take my chances. I cannot see going up a grade causing an oil related warranty issue.

    Pros and bleeding brakes?

Here is how I bleed (flush) brakes solo. I open all the bleeders until the reservoir runs dry. Then I close all the bleeders and open the one furthest from the reservoir and let it run until it runs clear with no air bubbles. Then I work my way up to the closest one. Takes time but works.

    Pros and bleeding brakes?

There is a mechanical switch that monitors fluid pressure on the rear and front brake lines which will activate the dash brake light if there is a fault. If you are bleeding the brakes, front or back, the brake that is being bled with create a low pressure causing the brake light to come on if...

Lighted exterior concrete steps in new construction- have to give a thumbs down

Ugly and over the top for my liking. Too much wasted space. Judging from the septic system, It didn't perk well for the inspectors.

    Is this piston leaking oil?

Does it appear wet (oil) or dry (carbon/fuel)?

    Very intermittent parasitic draw

Just what I was going to mention, alternator. A leaky diode in the bridge rectifier could, intermittently, do that.

Does anyone here without a garage use a pop-up canopy tent?

Too much work. I could be finished with the project by the time I wrestle with the ez up.
