Used Detroit Axle struts. One rear was manufactured incorrectly, warranty was a pain to process. Spring rates were much higher, car sat considerably higher. Too stiff for me. Also one locknut on a front strut backed off and the strut rod rattled around for a while. Not a fan.

Ugh just installed Mevotech arms in a Santa Fe to replace SKP arms that failed after 31k miles. They have been better than Moog for me lately so keeping my fingers crossed.

So I signed up on the Lexus website with the VIN of my new to me car. I can see everything that was ever done to it at a Lexus dealer. Just had the radiator replaced a year ago, timing belt and spark plugs done on the appropriate mileages. Any other brands offer this?

Oil changes scheduled for weekdays after work. Roll car in garage up on the ramps, immediately pull the plug , then the filter. Go inside and eat dinner. Back out after doing dishes, reverse order.

New to me RX400H, 135k miles. I have enough Valvoline MaxLife left over from another car’s change to do a spill and fill on this. Any downsides?

I use Parts Authority at work as well as personally. Any problems with anything, they handle it quickly. My pricing usually beats RA and Amazon. They sell some items from OEM’s, and identify in their app if a parts is from the original manufacturer or an OE approved supplier.

Most industrial truck (aka forklift) maintenance schedules call for engine oil and filter change at the first 50 hours, transmission oil, filter, and differential oil changed at first 100. Then every 500 hours engine and 1000 transmission.

Oil filters I’ve used on previous changes have a little tab on the bottom that plugs into the housing. Just ordered a Hengst figuring it’s an OE supplier part, and no tab. Does any know what that tab does? Block a bypass passage? Or is it just there to align the filter in the housing?

Idle solenoid. Usually designed to pop out a little when you turn the car on, then retract to fully shut the throttle when off. Some were designed to kick up the idle a little when the AC was turned on...
