CEOs: AI Will Wipe Out Some Jobs

Yes, you can't stop it; tech will win. I am more concerned with which country leads... To win, leadership, and will, is required. We have to fund education and training.

CEOs: AI Will Wipe Out Some Jobs

The question is, will Americans embrace change or run away scared? The leadership? If the answer is like much of what we have seen, including here, then yeah, rough times ahead. You grow or you go.

CEOs: AI Will Wipe Out Some Jobs

Education is key. In the world of high tech, there is no status quo; continuing education is a job requirement. I can tell you Silicon Valley values, and pays, for education. They paid for mine and offered to send me to Stanford or Santa Clara. How to beat China? Value education. The question...

VW Karmann Ghia launched on this day 14th July 1955, 70 years ago

At the beginning of the 1950s Wilhelm Karmann spoke with the then VW boss Heinrich Nordhoff about a sporty Coupé based on the Beetle. At the Kasino-Hotel in Georgsmarienhütte, a small town near Osnabrück in Germany, the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was officially presented to journalists and...

    2026 Subaru Uncharted

EVs can be amazing for the right use case, like mine. I doubt I will ever buy another new ICE car, unless it's a pickup.

Does Size Matter? Engine Displacement….How Low Can They Go?

I think the Honda 600 sedan used a detuned Honda 450 motorcycle engine.

    Toyota ... warped rotors

Ditto on a Raybestos E3 front pad/rotor set on a '15 Odyssey. I couldn't believe it as I had had good luck with them previously. A good aftermarket rotor pair and Honda pads did the trick.

Are German cars safer than Japanese or American cars?

Our 2021 Lex RX450h F Sport has been pretty darn safe. Of course it has around 10,000 miles and sits in the locked garage at our house that is 90 miles away... Gotta love statistics. Ya gotta look deeper...

New Tesla Model YL unveiled in China

The X is only made in Fremont, is pretty dated and is expensive. The Y is one of the best selling cars in the world. It is far cheaper to manufacture and has the more modern mfg lines. It is made in Tesla factories around the world.

    Chevrolet BOLT resurgence

If GM has that much vehicle manufacturing dominance, why can't they make an EV that is profitable? I am not cherry picking anything. I am talking about companies. Comparing the last ten years is cherry picking a start up vs a 100+ year old company. The Bolt was released in 2016 I believe and...

    Chevrolet BOLT resurgence

GM is a legendary company; they have had their ups and downs. The loss of credit hurts every company that qualifies; some worse than others. I fully expect Ms Barra and Co. to continue on their EV business path and will achieve profitability. They have to. Their 100+ years in business shows they...

    2025 Lexus TX500h Oil Selection

That Lex is gonna get lux care! 2500 mile services allows for any decent oil. Kirkland would do and might be better than some dealership's bulk oil? I use M1 on our 2 Lexi. Enjoy your beautiful car!

Progressive car insurance, found a way to lower rates

This thread got me wondering about other vendors, specifically Tesla insurance. Easy to do an online quote via the Tesla cellphone app. $1178 for 6 months; sheesh! Elon can pound sand. He's wack.

    Chevrolet BOLT resurgence

AG, that's apples to oranges. GM is a 100+ year old company; hardly a start up. One would think they would know how to make a profit on a vehicle. Tesla was a start up a few years ago; GM was a start up well over 100 years ago.

    Chevrolet BOLT resurgence

Variable unit profit speaks to "Cost to Manufacture" and is primarily Labor, Material and Overhead; basically what it costs to get it out the factory door. It does not cover warranty costs, transportation costs, selling costs and perhaps other costs that can be directly attributed to a unit...
