Can I use an oil filter twice

I don't change oil as often as most people here and I run a filter longer than most, often for two OCIs. Been doing this for 40 years. My cars run fine. My 2016 Hyundai is a different story.

    A/C Gauge Readings

Spend less that $20, add some r134a. The pressure chart is telling you to do just that.

    Battery behavior

Perhaps the so called "smart charger" ain't so smart when dealing with a 6 volt battery. My old air cooled VWs [with a 6V system] would run at just over 8 volts.

AC operating intermittently, any idea what the issue could be?

After being parked in the sun for a while, the interior of any car becomes dang hot. The dash, airbox and associated ductwork can take a while to cool down. Perhaps there is nothing wrong with the AC system. You can buy a cheap meat thermometer at the dollar store and place it in one of the...

    "Engine Restorer" VOA

I recall a product like this, perhaps this is the actual product, it contained a lot lead. Would temporarily restore compression but lead to other problems with time. CAT failure and emissions problems? Possible use, getting a final year out of a lawnmower.

    Got thinking about chainsaws and?

I was 10, perhaps younger, using a saw by myself. It was the 60's and they were not light. Looking back I think that was foolish.

When oil is low, is it consumed faster?

I have heard/seen this posted many times. When an engine is low [near the add mark] on oil, consumption will accelerate. If you believe this is true, why do you think this happens?

Oil flow rate. Plastic E core v. metal core filters.

I had two purolator filters with plastic center cores where the media tore and got pushed through the big holes. Since then I prefer a metal center core with smaller holes.

    Rubber flake in oil

My old dodge has a drain plug with a built in rubber gasket that wears out every few years. Seems to get chewed up with use. It loses small bits of rubber that could end up in the oil pan while draining.

    SuperTech MP7317 cut open.

Not a good design if it's always allowing some of the oil to bypass the filter media. Filters with a coil spring and the bypass valve built into the baseplate of the filter cartridge shouldn't have this problem.

SuperTech Full Synthetic oil - Anyone doing 10k OCI with it, and any issues with sludge/varnish.

The [approved] oil used has very little to do with varnish/sludge build up. Vehicle use/conditions/temps/frequency is %90 of the equation.

Recharged house a/c, cools better but gauges still low.

In my experience a licensed HVAC professional will often top a slow leaker R22 system without finding a leak. These so called "harmful" systems will phase themselves out eventually. What I do find criminal is how often some contractors will provide misleading information to a customer to...

Recharged house a/c, cools better but gauges still low.

Make sure the air filter is good. Reduced flow over the evaporator coil can mess up the gauge readings.

Hyundai and Kia suspension damping from factory

The Elantra GT 2013 to 2016 is known for this problem in the lower trim model. If you have sport suspension, it's less of a problem. The rear suspension was changed with the following model [2017] as the shocks were moved rearward. Upgrading to KYB 554384 is a partial cure. I find driving in the...

Recharged house a/c, cools better but gauges still low.

So house is at 78° and it's 55° at the vent so the temp drop of 23° is pretty good? Yes 23F is very good. But.....a small undercharge will tend to over cool as yours is doing now. This can lead to the evaporator icing up. As to why it won't accept R22 quickly, a guess would be the connection...

Recharged house a/c, cools better but gauges still low.

Basic rule with home ac is......the temp drop from return to vent closest to unit should be 20F +-2. So it's working very well.
