What % Of A Battery's Rated A-h Capacity Is Acceptable?

Doing the math, the battery has a capacity of about 20AH. It's done! Costco has a very good battery warranty. I think it's 4 years no questions asked for a free replacement.

Want to try HPL after 4 OCIs of Valvoline Restore and Protect

My 2 cents... You are trying to fix the oil consumption problem but the magic oil isn't working. Try a barrymans B12 piston soak. It helped my Hyundai. If none of this works, save your money and run Supertech. Your driving style is easy on oil.

Will a universal rear view mirror fit my Hyundai 2016 GT?

My wife has the car 600 miles away and a problem has developed. The rearview mirror mounts to a metal button/shoe that is glued to the windshield. Problem is the mirror mount is made of plastic and was a loose fit on the button/shoe. Now the plastic mount [slips over shoe] has cracked, and of...

    Alternator charging at 14.75

The voltage is only slightly off....A battery can take some minor abuse for a short time. I would put the new battery in and monitor the voltage. something like this would be convenient... https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251801576905307.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt

    Hyundai 26300-35505 5,000 miles C&P

I have used a few of these on my Hyundais. Always first class when cut open. Consistent OEM quality. $10 Canadian/ $7 US at the dealer. I go at most 12,000 miles on the filter only if conditions are good, not many short trips etc... It's a little small.

    Alternator charging at 14.75

The following advice is free and you get what you pay for. I've seen perhaps two batteries with brown acid in them. They were both shot. Check all related connections and grounds and check voltage again [with a different meter]. If problem persists... Replace the battery. Can you borrow one...

    Alternator charging at 14.75

In my opinion 14.75 volts is a little out of range. Is this measured right at the battery posts? AGM or flooded? Try a different volt meter.

Filter change every other oil change - anyone doing it?

The owner's manual for many of the cars I have owned suggest you can use a filter for 2 OCIs. V8s of the 70s 80s and 90s and some V6 Dodge engines. I try for a larger filter with a wire backed media and use the filter for multiple years sometimes. My 99 Dodge has had the same filter for 4 years...

Anyone top-off charging a lead-acid battery as part of regular maintenance?

With my older cars/batteries I will remove the caps and if I see the plates are not Black/Grey/Black/Grey. They are more Grey-Grey. In other words they are becoming sulfated. I will trickle charge the battery for a couple of days [topping up water as necessary] and the plates tend to...

2015 XC70 P0420 with CAT pics, troubleshooting assist

Fully warmed engine at steady idle, MAF reading jumping from 3.0 to 4.0 does not seem right to me. Should sit close to 3.0. I ain't no expert. Maybe someone here knows if this acceptable but my cars don't do that.

Largest filter I could run on 02’ Dakota

Fram PH8a should work fine unless there is not enough room. Should the engine twist on it's mounts will a bigger filter hit anything? Will it be struck by road debris? I use the bigger Fram Ultra XG8a on my van with a 3.3. I leave it on for 3 or 4 oil changes.

Can heat tape be used to keep long run of pipe warm?

I bought a gas water heater about 10 years ago and found that the temp dial would not go above about 120F. I pulled off the plastic temp dial and found a tab on the back of the dial that was hitting part of the metal temp regulator. I broke off the tab and re-installed. It then allowed the dial...

    2011 Sonata 250,000 mi

Hyundai made a lot of bad engines. Mostly from 2011 to 2016. Those made in the Georgia USA plant had the debris from crankshaft machining left in the oil passages leading to bearing failure. The piston design of the 1.8 and 2.0Nu engines result in piston slap and worn rings leading to high oil...
