Rolling all great ideas into one for “bespoke” oil

They are almost done…. Thanks for the kind words. The nice thing about being small is the ability to be flexible. More later. They are about to push tonight’s main at the Chili Bowl.

Help picking oil for 900whp Audi TTRS

It’s probably not fair to lump esters all together under that statement. It really depends on the ester. There are some as you describe and then there are others that are very hydroliticly stable. As with many things the correct choices yield good results.

    Ammonia is the solution

Pure ammonia does not present a corrosion problem. Wet ammonia however can be a different story. It is the contaminant that causes the issue

    Additive Clash

This. Very small changes can return measurable differences in results. It is always best to avoid mixing oils. It’s not likely you will blow anything up. It’s also likely that a mixture could provide a lower performing product than what each would do individually.

Their chart above lists Novvi base oil on the bottom. We are familiar with Novvi and they make excellent products. In my experience they are a net gain when you use them appropriately. Myth Using Synthetic 10W30 Today in GDI Engines ?

Yes there is a whole list of them. You absolutely raise a good point. I am an advocate of good oil for extended drains. It is how I operate almost all of our vehicles. That being said if the contaminants shorten the life available the next step I would make would be to pickup Mobil1 FS 0w40 and...

Myth Using Synthetic 10W30 Today in GDI Engines ?

Sorry for the delayed response. You are in my opinion right on target. I don’t feel the conditions exist where volatility is the major factor. The issue can be boiled down to oil mist.
