    Mobil 1 AFE 0w-30, 4k mi; '24 Ford Bronco 2.7L EB 11k mi

I think the OAI one is more accurate. The dipstick smells strongly of fuel when I check the oil. It is consistent with @CarbonSteel ’s results with this engine too.

Yeah, it’s the same VOA sample I posted here .

OAI/Horizon UOA of the same oil sample, taken seconds apart from the Speediagnostix one from the pan drain. Almost triple the fuel dilution from this lab! That would explain a lot about the KV100 going from 10.7 to 8.9.

BITOG Recommendations - Oil and OCI for F250

Great questions. I would like to know more about fuel dilution and if changing oil more frequently actually helps. Specifically I wonder what the fuel dilution rate of change is. Does fuel dilution % tend to stabilize when it reaches a certain level? How fast does the fuel/oil ratio...

    Mobil 1 AFE 0W-30, Horizon & SpeeDiagnostix 2025

The samples of this M1 AFE 0W-30 for both labs were taken from the same 5 qt jug, one after the other at almost the same point in the pour midway through the bottle. The oil was purchased from and delivered by Amazon only 1 day prior to the sample being taken. I finally got the horizon test...

I've now done 2 VOA of the M1 AFE 0W-30 with Speediagnostix, plus one through Blackstone overlayed in the attached image for conveneince. The variance of calcium is about 30% and stated to be normal in the comments, of course that comment was not made with the blackstone result in-mind, because...

It goes to an address in Dover, Ohio. Yes I will keep testing for my own amusement, and in the small chance that it helps someone else even if just for a laugh at me wasting money.

I installed an A.S.S. eliminator harness so that the vehicle remembers the A.S.S. on/off setting every time instead of defaulting back to on. I wanted to do this interval with ASS on and will do the next one with ASS off to see if anything changes noticeably. No it's not enough data to draw any...

    Mobil 1 AFE 0w-30, 4k mi; '24 Ford Bronco 2.7L EB 11k mi

Sorry, it was the best I could do as I ordered horizon test kits in July and they only just arrived at my Amsoil dealer 2 weeks ago. So it was SD or blackstone. I am also just holding the sample jar under the drain plug hole after it flows freely for a few seconds so it’s not laboratory...

    Mobil 1 AFE 0w-30, 4k mi; '24 Ford Bronco 2.7L EB 11k mi

11,000 miles on this vehicle/unit and oil was changed with M1 AFE 0w-30 at 500, 3000, 7000, 11000. Only used Shell V-power premium (90 octane). Used auto start stop for entire interval. Fram Synthetic Endurance FE11955 cartridge filter. Main difference is this was an autumn OCI with average...

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w-30 2,500 miles Ford Bronco 2.7L ecoboost (out of grade?)

It could be, and I’ve been doing these UOA’s in part to look for fuel dilution. This one was a May-July interval. Unfortunately since I used blackstone on this particular one I guess we won’t know the %. I’ve since switched labs and have a few more UOA results for this oil coming next week...

Aeroshell 15w-50, 24 hour interval, Experimental Cub, Lycoming IO-360-EXP128

I doubt it other than anecdotal stories of Lycoming reps winking and nodding off the record at Oshkosh when asked about MMO. This engine isn’t type certificated. I too was skeptical and didn’t want to run any additives but it was the mechanic’s idea and it did seem to help in the fuel -...

Aeroshell 15w-50, 24 hour interval, Experimental Cub, Lycoming IO-360-EXP128

Thanks, I have been gathering all the tools for this including the correct reamer (.4995 if I remember right) and a valve wizard tool along with the two pronged mechanical fingers. I was going to do it then I realized cubcrafters installed the baffling right across the middle of the valve...

Aeroshell 15w-50, 24 hour interval, Experimental Cub, Lycoming IO-360-EXP128

Have had this airplane for about 2.5 years, the engine was factory new when I got it. It only takes 100LL and is in an Experimental Cub. Doing analysis in part because the IO-360 gets morning sickness on cold starts (coughing/chugging for 3-5 seconds). On advice of mechanic added Marvel...

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w-30 2,500 miles Ford Bronco 2.7L ecoboost (out of grade?)

I've learned the error of my ways and accept that I am ignorant slob when it comes to Statistics, Chemisty & Science, amongst other things. I understand that the only thing the $30 ($50?) spectrographic analyses can tell me is a rough idea of the amount of wear the engine is experiencing in...

best oil for Ford 2.7L V6

@CarbonSteel did a lot of research on this and he runs Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30. I would search for his content on here and at Bronco6g.com . I run Mobil one Advanced Fuel Economy 0w-30 in my two 2.7 Broncos because I live in a cold place and it carries the ford WSS-M2C-963-A1 approval. I don’t use...

    Which Mobil 1 5W-30 oil?

This thread is worth a read I think the question in the linked post is a great one. The Ford WSS spec requirements list was purchased by a member here and it is seemingly easy to meet. Yet relatively few oils carry it, especially the 0w-30 WSS spec. I could see an argument that Ford wants to...
