    Canceling Toyota care

I'm on the getting and keeping the factory warranties these days. Maybe not what the dealer is offering and most likely not an aftermarket one. My Sequoia when I had it, father-in-laws Renegade and my Pilot now we got the warranty on line from a different dealer. They were all 1/2 price or less...

post your latest transmission lubricant change.

I did 2 D&F's so far on my sons 2010 Forte with Valvoline Import Multi-Vehicle and my Harbor Freight fluid extractor. I'll do a 3rd in a couple days before he takes to VA. Power steering got the same but with red bottle Maxlife. I plan to do my daughter-in-laws '21 Tucson also. I called 2 local...

    Gumout Regane help

@urman tested many and BG44k had the most PEA in his testing. It's in the thread with fuel system cleaners. Gumout Multi system also was pretty good on a price/volume comparison.

    Valvomax users

I do the same with the Pilot. Ramps make it's high enough and I use an empty 5qt jug from last OCI.

What are you working on today?

Daughter-in-laws '21 Tucson, only has 26k on it. She moves to VA in 2 weeks to join my son - cabin filter, air filter, front and rear brake pads. Pads still had some life left but they were rusting up and hard to get out. $120 for the pads at least I know they will be good for the road trips...

Is this excessive wear for 75k miles? Honda ridgeline 2019 6speed awd

Did you install a VCM disabling device like S-VCM or VCM Tuner II that you unhook during that time? Just asking as some are under impression that the ECO or ECON button affects that. It does not. Only way I know is separate device that tells ECU that ECT1 is not above 165F, older ones used...

Is this excessive wear for 75k miles? Honda ridgeline 2019 6speed awd

@Starving Electrician Having the VCM enabled shuts down 3 cylinders on light loads, cruising on highway. It also makes the TC slip so that you don’t feel that engage/dis-engage as much. It also uses the electronic motor mounts to assist with that. The added slip of course adds extra heat and...

Is this excessive wear for 75k miles? Honda ridgeline 2019 6speed awd

Disable VCM like mentioned. More frequent changes as mentioned. Is it under an extended warranty? If no warranty and all yours, Find one of the full synthetic versions that the shifting characteristics are acceptable. Amsoil SS has gotten some good reviews. I’d probably try the new Valvoline...

Valvoline Maxlife ATF or Extended Protection ATF

When I conversed with Dave at HPL he recommended the HPL Blue for my daughters '08 CRV. It's a bit thicker viscosity vs green more toward what the original Z1 was. It's like the blue bottle Valvoline Import Multi-Vehicle. That is 6.9 cst vs 5.9 cst on the maxlife and new EP. I had dealer do...

Valvoline Maxlife ATF or Extended Protection ATF

Not that color is the only indicator and only an oil analysis can tell true condition as compared to new but in my 50 years, dirty black transmission fluid is burnt up, has been overheated and lost many of it's original properties. Unless Honda is adding some additive at factory causing this...

Topping up a fill with a different brand

The obligatory BITOG "It's Totaled" comes to mind. I've mixed/matched brands and viscosities to use up quarts for at least 45 years. The oil user/burner vehicles will most likely get topped up with multiple versions until my stash is all one flavor. Even then it might be a different viscosity...

what signals a need to change ATF?

New AT fluid and filter in father-in-laws CRV got it back shifting correct again from neglect. It stayed working well for another probably 50k until 2nd gear didn't want to anymore. Tried some fluid changes, solenoids, checked screens. Those didn't help anymore at that point. It did have almost...

Walmart EverStart Platinum AGM online purchase and delivery experience

@f355spider - see if you can get the family members to get in the habit of turning on the headlights especially with the short trips. Honda's charging algorithm and variable charge rate alternator keep it low to get the extra .001mpg. If it sees enough charge and not a high load it puts out like...

lowering tire pressure to ~20 PSI for beach?

We use these Staun Deflators often for the beach. By the time you screw on 4th one the first tire is almost down to pressure. They come preset at 18psi but you can adjust that if you want. I have a Viair 88P that we use for airing back up. It clips to battery so not limited on power port wiring...

    H4 LED Replacement

This is for a 2 pack but I like the extra small reflector as they describe to add to original reflector coverage. I don't know on Motorcycle, just daughters CRV. If I need to replace in future I'll probably try these Morimoto 2Stroke 4.0 LED I have Nineo H4 LED in my daughters CRV currently...
