The 7317 is not oversize, it is undersize. The 7317 became a standard size in Honda (and perhaps) others. Never spec'd for Hyundai/Kia. Done for fitment issues on Honda replacing the long time larger 3593A or 9688 size.
Always use the H/K filters and avoid service issues, whether unfounded or not.

Attached is a pic of my 87 Accord 190K. Driven very little last 20 years. All original everything AC. Last recharge for R12 was at least 20 years. My daughter has a 07 Civic 155K. Original AC everything also, recharged about 4 years ago.
No leaks ever, I have a sniffer, cheap but works well...
I'll raise you and go one better. On a 96 Roadmaster wagon the studs holding the cat cans have a metric on one end and an SAE on the other. On the same part. :devilish:
