    Conti DWS06+ vs. Michelin PSAS4

Was that 3#/tire or 3#/4 tires?

This is what happens when a cook puts mustard on a hot dog ...

Also from the interview with the restaurant owner, "His restaurant in the Loop often attracts tourists, and many, who request ketchup on their Chicago dog. “Of course we have to say no!” Chiappetti said. “We say ages 8 and under, you can have ketchup, but we try not to serve it.” So maybe ask...

Meat sauce? I'm not sure what that is. Please explain.

This is what happens when a cook puts mustard on a hot dog ...

Yup! I use mustard as a binder for the rub, on my baby back ribs also. Meathead (Google him) claims that mustard on ribs doesn't give any flavor, and if you like mustard flavor on your ribs, you should add ground mustard to the rub. But my wife and I both can taste the difference when I use...

This is what happens when a cook puts mustard on a hot dog ...

No self respecting hot dog lover would ever forgo mustard on a hot dog! The only way to order a dog is "all the way". Mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, peppers of your chioce (jalepeno or banana), at the very least.

Vinfast, what on earth are you doing - VF8 and VF9 test drive and failed attempt to lease a VF8

Interestingly, twenty years ago many of us in the auto supplier industry were saying similar things about Tesla. For a long time, it looked like Tesla was in over their head, and were finding out the hard way that building cars was much more involved that putting a body on a chassis, and trying...

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

I can't recall for sure, was the Purolator Tearolator issues over with 5 years ago? It is interesting how good filters become bad, and what is thought of as bad filters can become very good, and then later become bad again. Are there any oil filters out there that have a consistent track...

Vinfast, what on earth are you doing - VF8 and VF9 test drive and failed attempt to lease a VF8

I had to look up Vinfast to even know what you are talking about. Their dealer map shows dealerships only in Southern California and two in the Bay area, so that explains the limited exposure. Sounds like they have a ways to go.

A way to reduce homeless drug problem in my area?

Really? I haven't seen a single post in this thread that has even slightly drifted into being political.

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

@Bob69, what do you expect to accomplish by seeking out the "best" oil filter on the market? Are you looking for the longest engine life possible? If so, exactly how long do you plan on running this, or these, engines? A million miles? Two million? Five million? Whenever discussions come...

Anyone ever replace pads on one wheel, but not the other?

It seems that as far as the brakes on the car are concerned, it should work out fine. But for me, once I have the car up on jack stands, have out the right tools and supplies, doing the second side takes no time at all. Why would you want to have to repeat all the prep work, just to get 3k-4k...

    Avocadoes by the pound

I don't think I've ever seen avocados sold by the pound. In my area, avocados typically run anywhere from $1/ea to $2.50/ea, with 3/$5 being pretty typical. Like you, I love avocado, but it is hard to justify when they are so pricey.

    Paprika?

I'm glad I happened upon this thread. I've often heard about how flavorful Hungarian paprika is, but I have never used it. I just ordered the 2 pack, 1 hot & 1 sweet, of Szeged paprika, off of Amazon. I'm anxious to try it, and see how it compares. I make homemade chili powder, by grinding...

Loves and Flying J are not Top Tier

It is smoke and mirrors. As @loneryder mentioned, most truckers use fuel discount programs, and get steep discounts from many of the big truck stop stations, Loves and Flying J included. These same companies jack up their prices, so then it gives the appearance to the truckers that they are...

Loves and Flying J are not Top Tier

You can add Maverik to the list of large chain gas stations that chose to not be Top Tier. I have talked to people that have reached out to Loves and Maverik, and asked them if their fuel meets TT, and if they intend to get TT certification. Both provide very similar responses. In essence...

Getting ready to bleed brakes. Do you shake the bottle of brake fluid?

@TCL, how would you suggest he get experience, if he has someone "with experience" do the job for him? Brake fluid drain and fill is an easy task. A good project to learn on. And hey, that is what BITOG is here for, to give advice to one another, so we can become more experienced.

Considering a 2000 Ford Focus SE wagon as a beater

Just today I was talking to my barber about the three Focus cars that he and his wife have driven over the years. He speaks very highly of how reliable they have all been. He was telling me that his wife still has a 2002 Focus, with 190k miles on it, that they no longer drive, so they were...

How long can motor oil be stored?

Why do you want to cloud up everyone's opinions based upon science? :sneaky: In my career, I was fortunate enough to work for a company that was heavily deep-rooted in what was originally called TPS, or Toyota Production System. Over the years, significant advancements were made by my...

    guys over 50 doing maintenance

I turned 68 in January. Admittedly, I've thought a few times that I should start paying someone else to do work on my cars. But then I consternate over if it will be done right. And I wonder if there could be things that I would not be seeing, that may need attention. And I remind myself...

    Mercedes brand filter vs generic

I've been using Purflux filters for my E350 for a very long time. They are about half the cost of the equivalent genuine MB filter. The appearance is very similar, if not identical, to the filters shown in the picture. No need to buy generic to save money. Purflux makes the genuine MB...
