Replaced my 24 year old Kenmore Dishwasher! Bosch 300 Series installed.

I suspect you will be very happy with the Bosch. I installed a Bosch in our kitchen 12 years ago, and it is still running strong. The lettering for the cycle selection has worn off, but we almost always leave it on the auto cycle, so no problem there. And there are a few small rust spots on...

Lake Speed Jr video - Ignore Factory oil specifications!

Some time ago Lake visited Dave's Auto Center, and did a video with a few of the people there. In that, he quickly jumped on the "thicker is better" bandwagon. Now in this most recent video, he is quoted as saying, that is not necessarily true. While his earlier statement may be compatible...

BMW Wheels - SF South Bay - Free?

I haven't. Perhaps I should, but I have rarely seen European lux cars in my local pull a part places, so I haven't bothered. I've always assumed that most Euro lux cars get bought by salvage yards that specialize in that market, and I'm not aware of any in the Northern Utah area. That would...

Lake Speed Jr video - Ignore Factory oil specifications!

There are a few things that Lake has done or said, that don't add up. It sometimes leaves me with the feeling that he occasionally says what he thinks will be popular with his audience. This seems to be most often when he is doing a video with other YouTube people. But overall, I think he has...

BMW Wheels - SF South Bay - Free?

Oh, man! If they were 19x9, I'd have you grab them for me, and I'd pay you for shipping them. I'm watching for a set of BMW wheels to put winter wheels on, for my X5.

Using seat-belt inertia lock to stay put for performance driving....how can't this be safe?

I'm not familiar with the term "ride down". We called a seat belt retractor with this feature a 'load limiter" retractor.

Using seat-belt inertia lock to stay put for performance driving....how can't this be safe?

While seat belt webbing does stretch, much more important in protecting the occupant from being injured by the seat belt, is a torsion bar that allows the webbing spool to continue to turn at a specific force.

    Non-spec Wix for '14 Mazda SkyActive 2.5?

Is Way overpriced. I only spend a few dollars more for that for the Donaldson Blue filters, which is the Donaldson upper line filters, for the Cummins 8.3 in my motorhome. And they are easily 4x the size of the filter you are looking at. I will say, Donaldson filters are built for abuse...

Using seat-belt inertia lock to stay put for performance driving....how can't this be safe?

Your method makes great sense. Ignore the naysayers. They aren't thinking this through. The looseness of the seat belt is only for comfort. Automatic Locking / Emergency Locking seatbelt retractors are really a compromise, to get automobile occupants to wear their seatbelts. I suspect that...

New to me 2004 Jeep Wrangler with less than 24,500 miles

The manufacturing plant, that I had moved to Kentucky to work at, moved all it's high volume production to a sister plant in Mexico. They moved all their service parts production to another sister plant in Utah. My wife and I are from Utah. Both our mothers were getting on in years, so we...

New to me 2004 Jeep Wrangler with less than 24,500 miles

I also would use the same oil you are using in your Mazda. I've always had good luck with M1 oils, and ESP 5W-30 is a good one. Great find. That should be a good car for you, for many years. Considering how good of condition the paint is in, perhaps the original owner always parked it in the...

La Quinta Inns: OK place to stay for a night?

I have only stayed in a LQ once or twice, and was not impressed. As others have said, I would put LQ above Motel 6 and Days Inn, but they are no longer among my choices.

1 Million Mile Tundra - Vic Shepard does 1 Million miles for second time

It was not your post that led to my comment, but rather a since deleted response to your post. I agree that there should be no problem with apolitical comments.

1 Million Mile Tundra - Vic Shepard does 1 Million miles for second time

Please, let's not turn this thread political. I love hearing about million mile cars, and I'd hate to see this thread shut down.

1 Million Mile Tundra - Vic Shepard does 1 Million miles for second time

Thanks for sharing. I love following million mile cars. I remember his first Tundra he drove to 1 million miles. It is particularly interesting that he did it with 10k - 12k mile OCI and 0W-20. That sure flies in the face of a lot of opinions here at BITOG.

    Making Mustard

Thanks, @Quattro Pete. I like good horseradish. We use it regularly, particularly to make cocktail sauce. The hotter the better.

How come ac lifespan is so short on cars?

When you get it fixed, add some of the refrigerant oil with UV dye in it. Then if you get a leak again, you can track it down yourself, with an inexpensive black light.

    Making Mustard

That sounds tasty. It has never crossed my mind to make my own mustard. The cinnamon and nutmeg in the recipe surprises me. I would never have expected either in a prepared mustard. Curious, what type of vinegar are you thinking of trying next time? Perhaps you need to fill up a small jar...

How to freshen up a battery?

You definitely need to pull the caps and check fluid level. If the plates are still submerged, top off with distilled water and charge. If any of the plates are exposed, then the battery is not worth the effort to try and charge. Clean up the outside of the batter real good so the dirt...

How come ac lifespan is so short on cars?

@The motor guy, when you had the leak after 8 years, did you find the leak and fix it, so the system no longer leaks? If the leak was never repaired, then it is going to continue to leak. And you are going to have to continue to refill the system. About 30 years ago, I had a very seasoned...
