    2025 denali ultimate oil question

Not everyone is into Amsoil. The point I was trying to make is the relative cost. As far as I know Super car is almost $60 a case of 6 quarts. In comparison Signature is $45 a gallon. That small difference made my go Signature for my L84. However nothing wrong with Super car.

    2025 denali ultimate oil question

I’d just run Amsoil Signature 0w-40 or Mobil 1 Super Car both are Dexos R rated and are similar in price.

My vote is for Amsoil ULV.

GM now saying to use 0w40 in 21-24 6.2L

So glad I switched to Amsoil SS 0w-40 recently at the 9k mile mark on my 24 L84. If it’s good enough for an LT4. Then good enough for the rest.

GM now saying to use 0w40 in 21-24 6.2L

Looks like a Euro Formula, ESP and plain M1 Vanilla version. It will be hard to all of the sudden market any of these. I imagine Super Car will slowly fade away. Don’t understand ESP one. Technically Super Car replaced ESP.

GM now saying to use 0w40 in 21-24 6.2L

Here’s a before an after almost overnight. Bright side there will be more brands eventually making it lowering the price. Super car isn’t the cheapest for the average joe at Walmart.

Outside of extended OCIs with ideal usage (all highway), what is the use case for boutique oils?

Just to add on to the whole fuel dilution and winter driving. Here’s an example where boutique oils shine. Here’s 3 samples on my 21 Outback 2.5L. Mostly commutes 4 miles round trip for work in Minnesota winters. 1st sample Amsoil SS 0w20, 2nd Amsoil OE 0w-20, 3rd Mobil 1 AFE 0w-30. I plan on...

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

For the members worried about my ring gear. Here’s some better pictures of the covers profile. It’s not as flat as Iowa like some covers in the past or other current brands.

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

Time is money. For someone that’s looking at putting 20-30k annual miles very soon it’s a big deal. I’d be in and out in 5-10 min tops every 1-2 years. Instead of waisting time cleaning, torquing and replacing gaskets. I just don’t feel like doing all that work for something that should of had a...

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

I haven’t touched the front yet because I don’t have the resources yet to place the truck on 4 stands. However if it’s the same for GM SUV this is the only front cover on the market. It’s currently in the back burner for now giving priority to other projects due to low interest. Sign up for...

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

One video isn’t a blanket statement for all covers. While some PPE covers may be flat. Atleast the one I have follows the ring gear curvature like the oem. No idea it’s just my model. However not all covers are completely flat.

Castrol Edge Extended Performance 0W-20 25k

That’s nice to see it finally roll out. $25.97 is a very good price.

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

If you take a look at my specific part# you can see it differs form the bigger trucks. It has round profile similar to oem. Your just using blanket statement to condone all aftermarket diff covers. Banks doesn’t make a cover for smaller trucks.

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

My cover isn’t flat like the one he tested. I’ve yet to see a worn out axle because of a cover. If both of my WW2 Jeeps have their original pinions and bearings in immaculate condition with 1940s cast iron covers. I’m fine. Amsoil severe gear will protect my axle more than I’ll ever need.

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

It will give me a drain plug. Which should of never been deleted by automakers. The extra quart capacity and possibly cooler fluid temps is just a bonus for me.

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

If you ever needed one. Rudy’s Diesel store on eBay has the best prices with make an offer. Much better price than full msrp on PPE website.

Installed PPE Diff Cover on my 24 Sierra 1500

Upgraded my rear diff cover on my 9.5” 12 Bolt AAM axle 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 with 10.6k miles. I had to use a small breaker bar because GM uses red loctite on all cover bolts 🙄. Old cover didn’t have too much crud on the magnets but there was several break in flakes in the drain pan. Fluid was...

Valve covers have not leaked yet so no. Going in for a spark plug job and will check if any are leaking. OLM monitor was used every change.

    Amsoil High Mileage

High mileage is more of a marketing deal. It's true most of them have a slight boost of seal conditioners and detergents. Many of them on high side of viscosity weight. However Amsoil makes a big emphasis on the cleaning ability of this oil similar to VRP claims. That's what I'm interested in...
