Fuel system issue question - '93 Shadow 3.0

Is the sender correct? I was just complaining about a Delphi assy that didn't read fuel level correctly from Day 1. IOW is it possible you siphoned to basically E?

Delphi Fuel Pump Assembly Failed Sending Unit

I had the same experience with a Delphi in an '05 Yukon. The gauge worked, but was totally wrong showing you were near empty when you still had plenty left. I was also frustrated because I thought I was buying decent quality, and this was 2014 (still in my order history). I haven't used a...

    Toyota V-shaped brake pad springs

Furthermore, on the 4 piston truck calipers, why do they only put them at top or bottom? There are holes and enough room for upper and lower. If you only use one you're really only forcing the top or bottom pistons apart. I did front brakes on an '06 H3 and the front calipers seemed nearly...

    NAPA Real Deals Flyer

I was just reading Carlyle decided to "reinvent" themselves with "Venom Green" tools for Gen Z. Apparently research shows Gen Z likes Venom Green. https://carlyletools.com/hand-tools This is allegedly the same Carlyle sold at NAPA. Has anyone seen this at NAPA stores?

Ever buy a preemptive parts car/mechanics special?

I've owned plenty of parts cars for a running vehicle. Kinda fun IMO

    Recommend 1/4" torque wrench

I am considering something like that as a stop-gap -- maybe even the Lexivon but maybe that's sketchy. It would at least get me away from the 30T head I have now, which honestly is annoying even for trans pan bolts. That said, I should probably just keep the ~$40-60 and put it toward a nice...

Methy Mike and the Sketchy Bunch

I'm very rural but still the S.O. won't do anything about theft or burglary. So, it's nice to have cameras just to know what happened but law enforcement won't do anything with it. And no, they're not overworked or understaffed here.

Can fumes of used oil make you dizzy?

I use +4 as aftershave, and I'm totally fine.....

    Recommend 1/4" torque wrench

In considering this, I might give it awhile and hope Icon releases a TechAngle fighter. I bought the 1/2" Icon flex digi angle for Subaru head bolts and don't really have any complaints. In the meantime I can keep complaining about my 30T CDI (yay!)

    New tool thread

I got this lot of GM brake bleed adapters on ebay Of course the prize is the unused J29567 for GMT400s I also ordered this prop valve depressor because I read it can be helpful (and everything on the internet is true, so.....) I needed a way to store this stuff away from sparks, abrasive dust...

    Dealer fee ? WWYD

When I bought my JL in '19 I was paying cash. They had a ~$320 "dealer service transfer fee" and just breezed over it in final paperwork like of course this is there. I told them no, they had to take that off. He said it was non-negotiable and I politely said I understood and I'd just keep...

What would you pay for this '97 GMC truck?

Yeah, $6500 for a 2wd GMT400 with 236k -- at least in CO -- no way. And not $5500 either. If they got $5500, good for them. The buyer....well, it's their money. I really don't see the appeal of the GMT400s. They're cumbersome and crude. Everything -- especially the interior and body -- is...

    Thanks all, undecided

    Harbor Freight's "$1000" trailer

Nice! I view any low-end trailer as a starter kit. I always modify it with additional crossmembers, spare tire mount, more tie downs, etc. Any 1-7/8" couplers go straight to the scrap bin because I refuse. When my 13" tires give me grief I'm going 15" -- it's easy with 5x4.5. I'll run P or...

Ford Flex front strut bearings replacement.

    Recommend 1/4" torque wrench

I'd like to replace my current 1/4" inch-lb tw. Presently I have a CDI 1501MRPH, and I need something still in the range of 20-150 in lbs. If it went lower than 20 or higher than 150, great. Complaints: coarse tooth and I ALWAYS hit the limp, loose reversing switch in use. So what I'd...

3.6 pentastar as bad as it seems ???

I will say I'm impressed with how my JL on 37s handles our little water trailer, and I'm still running factory 4.10s. I've got two half tons and a one ton but it's just more fun to get water w the Jeep. Figure 275 gal water is ~3k plus the 6x10 Snowbear "motorcycle" trailer which I've...

CAFE Standards Fines for Automakers Reduced to $0.00

They absolutely will. As discussed in the article in Post 1, CAFE did little because consumers choose products that save them $ down the line. More mpg = lower cost of ownership. People buying gas savers now aren't doing so because goobermint tells them to.

CAFE Standards Fines for Automakers Reduced to $0.00

I actually think you're right!! I put 10W40 in a '15 Subaru yesterday because it uses a lot of oil and she never checks it. There was something satisfying about pulling the filler cap labeled 0W20 and pouring in 10W40 :D
