Valvoline DOT 3/4 "synthetic brake fluid? Possible

I have used it for years and it has better cold weather properties than just DOT3 brake fluid. the brake and clutch pedals are more responsive and consistent in the cold than regular DOT3. Multiple cars and very obvious.

Interesting: Ford Issues new 5w-20 spec (Europe)

ConocoPhillips uses the Jet brand in Europe. http://www.conocophillips.co.uk/EN/jetbrand/retailfuels/Pages/index.aspx It isn't clear if C-P is making the motor oil (importing from US) or just rebranding it, as they don't have a blending plant in Europe to my knowledge. C-P is separating its...

    Air compressor oil

I bought a Bosch 3 gal compressor and they weren't of much help. I emailed Mobil and they suggested Mobil Rarus 427 compressor oil for the reasons mentioned. Deposits and cold start issues are avoided. Problem is no supply place around here sells it. DeWalt sells a synthetic compressor oil...

    365k mile Dodge minivan

Very impressive on that engine. That's a lot of miles. I'm surprised because around here many of the older 3.3L engines in various Chryslers have oil smoke coming out of them. Maybe they got it fixed in newer ones. The automatic transmissions are known problem, maintenance or not. Like...

    Sprint Cup Cars Oil?

Most of these teams run special racing oils, especially the ones sponsored by the majors. Formula 1 has been doing it since the 80s.

Sales Tax for car purchase is a Rip Off

I bought a new vehicle last year with $4750 in rebates. NY State taxes the vehicle on the pre-rebate price. I don't get it. The market value of the vehicle is post-rebate or they wouldn't sell.

Chrysler Owners, I want More Airbags!

Diminishing returns. How many airbags do you need, before the car is too heavy or too expensive or provides minimal value. My car has a bazillion. Having worked in the business, there is only the need for about 4. Safety at any cost is not a viable excuse.

    Obscure facts about cars woldwide

It is the Buick BRAND. Buick in China is a mix of US GM, Opels, and Holdens from Australia with some local flavor. Not a bunch of rolling sofa LeSabres like they used to sell here. Just like Chevrolet in Brazil is a mix of rebranded Opels, US trucks with some local mods. Chevrolet in Europe...

    New Oz Ford Ranger

I bought a 2011 US Ranger Supercab XLT for $16k. 2wd 4 cylinder manual. It gets between 26-27 mpg and it isn't broken in yet. I just don't get why all the trucks have to be bigger and high riding. 4wd, sure, ground clearance, I get it. Visibility? If you need to be higher, you aren't looking...

    76 station in NY!

I was driving down to PA and saw at the border on the NY side, the first 76 stations in probably ever in NY, besides one off truck stops, in Lindley, NY. Brownie's. There has not been a Conoco, Phillips 66, or 76 station for 150 mi in any direction for probably 50 years (Phillips 66) around...
