    OMG!! VW Oil Prices!

When I was in France, I went into an Autobacs store and I was shocked at how expensive motor oil was. Mobil 1 and Castrol RS - similar formula, weights, nothing odd was something like 50 Euro for 4 liters. Roughly $80 USD. Same amount here even with 8% tax is $26 for Mobil 1. Total/elf...

Tecumseh Snow King. . .Ready for winter. . .

I have a Craftsman 24" 5.5 hp Tecumseh that's from 2006 new. Works great. I've been using Pennzoil Platinum syn 10W-30 before each season. Is this good to use? No deposits? Seems to run like new.

Mr. Goodwrench, dead, age 37. RIP

Outside of Dale Earnhardt fans, I'm not sure what 'Goodwrench' means anymore as GM's (the corporation) brand value has declined. The brands mean more than GM umbrella. GM no longer has 50% market share.

    V8 Supercars is on now

Aussie V8s are great racing. Much better than NASCAR. Wish I knew when the races are on US TV.

My arctic adventure AKA "OMG I'm gonna die"

There are two issues here; 1. He stated he has no snow experience, therefore he needs a vehicle with a lot of margin. Rent one, before starting out in snow in Iowa, with a pickup. 2. A 2wd Ranger (with a manual) is not a big deal in winter with the proper tires (these are not) and weight in...

    "Sports" car owners.

The solution is usually not related to the car somewhat, but driver ability. They are called turns. Anyone can push the gas. Very few can keep going.

    Shell Gas and Pinging

My mother has a 2005 TL 6-speed manual and it does not pig at all on Sunoco 91 or 93 or Exxon/Mobil 91 or 93. We only have one Shell around here and it is far away.

How are the non-Torque Converter using Automatics?

The premise of Dual Clutch is to vary the gear ratio in 1st and 2nd gear then lock in from middle of 2nd through 6th like a stick manual. You get the creep and smoothness (if the software is good) of a torque converter at walking speeds, with the operation (response, direct drive efficiency...

School me on 2007 or 2008 Dodge Ram 1500

I know you live in Texas, but for those reading in the salty areas up north, the RAMs are one of the earliest vehicles to start rusting a lot up here. There are 2005s with massive blisters in the rear wheel well.

    Detergents and performance

Keep in mind that that most of the world uses RON (research octane number) for octane and the USA and Canada use R+M/2 (RON+MON (Motor octane number)/2). 91 RON ~=87 R+M (USA) 98 RON ~=93 R+M (USA) Big difference.
