    Best filter for synthetic oil

PG media and filtration is superior to Toyota though, no?

have you had experience with CQP filters distorting before? I haven't run them and have a Toyota V8 that takes them.

There’s a long/slender gray funnel I’ve got that works great for these 3.5 Honda J series engines. I’ll try to find a link, but you’ll know it when you see it. No need for a two filter setup like you had to improvise. Yikes about what you pulled off. Nice job on the oil/filter.

Want recommendations for 2017 Tacoma 6 speed auto transmission fluid

You may be right about the color, but with that said that'd be the first I've ever heard of the color change. If I were you, I'd change that coolant out asap. And I'd run a couple of changes through to where it looked pink vs orange. EDIT: I mean run the coolant volume changes enough to where...

Want recommendations for 2017 Tacoma 6 speed auto transmission fluid

I don’t know for sure, but the coolant that truck likely calls for is their pink stuff. Just a heads up as orange is not typical for Toyota coolant.

    Discount Tire Memorial Day Sale

agreed about corporate culture creep down into the guys turning wrenches. I used to have no problem sending an uninformed woman to DT knowing she'd be taken care of like a little sister. No more. They try to upsell all sorts of trash now - wipers, alignments, etc. I had a guy insist my...

CarQuest Premium 84356 w/5k miles, cut open

Here’s one off a 2026 odyssey with 4400ish miles on it. I was peer pressured here by someone (can’t remember who) to buy a filter cutter. I did. Pics below. Media currently drying out. Filter magnets doing their thing quite nicely!

Toyota 75w85 vs Amsoil SVG 75w85, which one is better?

Amsoil is better. Toyota charges more bc they have fanboi’s that will buy it because of their sticker being on the bottle. If you’re chasing quality, get the Amsoil.

Toyota ATF WS Lack of Availability

HPL green is my vote. Amsoil is also good hooch. If you want technical data, email HPL.

Group U1 Battery with terminals on "short" end

If it's an option, Costco sells standard terminal configured U1 interstate branded batteries. Mine said I didn't need to bring in the old one as there wasn't a core charge.

School me on robot lawn mowers

IMO, the ship of me worrying about this sailed when Amazon bought irobot and my roomba now has an accurate map of my floorplan readily accessible by any domestic agency who asks for it. Without opening a can of worms on what's possible from either our or another nefarious OGA actor stepping in...

Toyota ATF WS Lack of Availability

great questions for their technical teams to get back to you on. If I had to guess, HPL will directly address your concern and Amsoil will leave you scratching your head. LMK if these guesses are correct.

Toyota ATF WS Lack of Availability

HPL GREEN ATF is a suitable (and superior) fluid compared to WS. It's readily available. I'd have ZERO qualms about running whatever red/blue Amsoil ATF they recommend as WS replacement. Maybe they're doing you a favor by not being available? Lots of good options already listed too.
