Just retired a G5 with 391,730km on it, engine ran perfect, ac blew ice cold…yeah, they develop issues, but for $2900 you will HAVE to do some work. Very reliable engine and trans; not great rust-resistance.

I found it a great highway car, better than I was expecting. Seats were comfortable (for me, at least), and it had decent power to get up to speed and pass. Got great gas mileage, that’s for sure!

I’d worry a bit more about running 5W-20 in an engine calling for 5W-30 - I think the turbo engines call for 30-weight, so I wouldn’t want to run a thinner oil in a turbo car in the summer.

That is a serious motor! Ooof! I’d run a racing 20W-50…big fuel dilution on something that big, and if it’s being raced adds to the stress. I bet that pulls the front tires off the ground on a hard launch!

I like the aluminum colour of that filter; wish we got STP engine oil and filters up here in Canada.

STP’s engine oils I think have always been good, whoever blends them.

Interesting - I still think it’s just a Re-labelling of their ‘synthetic oil treatment’ that came in the same gold bottle 2-4 years ago.

If you find the black stone testing of antique oils, they test this exact oil.

Article in the news today about how Costco is selling more gas now than it ever has and how they do it - sell basically at cost and make ‘profit’ off membership fees it takes for people to get the gas.
