Advice welcome on helping kids choose family vehicle

Well, I don't think I will convince them to get a minivan, no matter the practicality. As far as a Jeep or Durango, whether deserved or not, the Mopar reputation for lack of reliability may be a no-go. I still like my Commander and Charger, but they have had a higher than average repair need.

Advice welcome on helping kids choose family vehicle

That is largely what I have found in my research online. They are good with a used vehicle, but would want something with lowish miles as he will be daily driving and he is in property management. His Mazda 3 is at 290k miles and still going but time for something with more room for family and...

Advice welcome on helping kids choose family vehicle

You are correct. I have found the exact types of deals on the Outlanders online. Of course, it is a bit smaller than a Highlander. I agree about not interested in 3 cyl turbo

I was looking at those. Have there been any issues with the engines on these newer skyactiv CX9s? My other daughter has a 2014 CX9 which has been a pretty good car, but it has the old Ford V6 in it

Advice welcome on helping kids choose family vehicle

The Regal TourX was a cool vehicle. Not sure how many are out there with lowish miles, etc. Not sure about Subaru. Some people love them(see above recommendations) and some don't. I know certain years and motors have had issues. My brother has a 2010 Forester and the turbo and A/C have given...

He used to drive a minivan and I'm not sure he would go back to one, but I was thinking the same.

Yes, that is what I thought with the V6. In their price range they would probably be looking at 2015 to 2020 models. Is the Toyota 4 cyl a belt or chain? Dillard is just up the highway from us. Beautiful area

Thanks for replies. Yes either a 2 row with good space behind 2nd row or a 3 row. As far as AWD, we are in north GA and torrential downpours and occasional snow happen. Mazda may be another consideration, as mentioned. Is there an issue with the V6 in the Highlander?

Advice welcome on helping kids choose family vehicle

My son-in-law is wanting my assistance in finding a vehicle for their growing young family. He and my daughter have 2 little ones, 4 yrs and 4 months, and have outgrown his Mazda 3 and her Cube. This will be his main vehicle, so will be daily driven and must get at least decent gas mileage and...

    How is Your Fuel Stash?

I keep 10 gal diesel for the F250 and about 120 gal of various 93, 90 ethanol free and premixed 40:1. Rotate it all so it gets used within 1 year. This is for boat, jet skis, OPE, 4 wheelers and a variety of cars, etc. All gets some fuel stabilizer.

    I know, Michelin LTX M&S, but …

I also live in the southeast. To me, rain/wet performance is always near the top of the list. Continental ATs have excellent wet performance and are quiet. They also tend to be longlasting. I have the Cooper R&Ts on my Jeep now and they also are quite good in the wet, though not quite as quiet...

    New tires for my 2015 F250 4WD

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those 2 choices. I have had excellent service from the Conti ATs so I would probably steer in that direction myself. Good luck with your decision. You are on the right track!

    Apple IOS 26

If you are interested in a 3rd gen SE, get one ASAP. They stopped making them last year, but you can still find some around. It has some upgrades from the 2nd gen. I love the SE, with its home button. It also is a bit smaller than most other I phones so easier to put in pocket, etc.

How much money do NFL team physicians make?

My head physician assistant in my practice used to work for a private practice orthopedic group in south Florida. The group was team physicians for a certain south Florida professional sports team. They had to pay the team to be their team physicians, essentially gaining advertising and...

You will really enjoy that saw. My 550 is set up with an 18 inch bar also. It really rips.

    Husqvarna 545 mark II

I have 2 of them and actually did some cutting with one today. They are nice saws, quite powerful, and cut great. I also have a 550 Mk 2, and it is a slightly more powerful, upgraded and a true pro saw. One major reason I have 2 is the fact that you could find these being sold on FB Marketplace...

    Medicare 2026 Update Vid

This is not completely true. If the physician has the patient sign a form(such as ABN) ahead of time, indicating it is possible their insurance may deny payment or claim something is not medically necessary, then it is allowed to turn the cost of the service to the patient. Insurances such as MA...

Driving car with charged battery but possible alternator not charging

Update for anyone wondering. I checked the battery with the Schumacher, was 12.7 volts fully charged. started car, no upward change and alternator tester on it said zero. Definite lack of charging. Drove the car to the shop today in Friday afternoon traffic with tight sphincter. While waiting at...

Driving car with charged battery but possible alternator not charging

Thanks for additional replies! Regarding the Chevelle, it has 3.31 Posi rear. Makes highway cruising somewhat tolerable. The M5 doesn't have a voltmeter gauge. And the battery light was on constant, no flickering while running. I do have an older Schumacher charger that I believe would give the...

Driving car with charged battery but possible alternator not charging

Thanks for the quick replies. The shop pretty much said as above, that they think I could make it, "but if your wife or daughter were driving it, maybe flatbed it" LOL. The nearest auto parts store is almost as far as the shop, unfortunately. This is the Chevelle. I've owned it for 20 yrs. It...
